I agree with demure-manure that it might be a legal nightmare to arrange.. but I think if you could get it going it would do well.
Although, I have to say, that there must be a good reason why off licence chains don't already offer this service?

you would most certainly need a licence and im not convinced carting booze around in your van would be legal, if it was im pretty sure off licenses and super markets would have cornered the market, that aside i think its a great idea !!!! often run low on booze after everyone has had too much to drink to go drive for some more |

this is a great idea but the legalities of it would be a nightmare. i dont think you'd be able to get a license, as liquore licenses are given for "consumption of intoxicating liquore on the premises".
You could approach the license service and ask though! if you expand, come to derby!! I'll have you on speed dial!! |

you would have to have some kind of buissness license because if you didnt then hauling more than one case of alchol in you vechile at a time is considered transporting but if you could maybe stock up you house for the weekend then carry only one case to a party it could totally work without a liscense.i dont drink nor party personally but you have a good idea here.be sure to charge a gas allowance also may 35 cents a mile you know considering how much gas runs in your area.i would be careful though about who you let know about your buissness if you had a few good clients i would leave it at that and not expand because i do belive you could be charged with some sort of boot legging i dont see how but if law officals found out they might book you for something stupid.like dont advertise too much you know what i mean.but in way it should perfectly fine and a good thing to do it could help with less DUI i know of many people who have left there home during a party to go get more booze while they were drunk(personal experiance,,,my friend wrecked her fathers mustange while doing this it was bad)and one more thing to think about would be know who your delivering to because there is a possibitily of contributing to minors drinking you know which could get you prision time.just be careful and think it out well.might not work in the long run but over all a good idea. |
