There are a number of home-based businesses that are not scams: Avon and Herbalife, just to name a few (they are both multi million dollar companies and registered with the DSA). If you don't like those companies because they have associated costs with them, then you're out of luck. Because starting any business, home-based or otherwise, is goin to cost something.
If you are find with the business model, but don't want to be hassled with selling stuff that people can get from Walmart for half the cost and because you don't want your house to start looking like a stock room then you might want to check out YTB or Pre-Paid Legal. Both or profitable legitimate companies whose product is intangible.

there are lots of ways to work from home, online like blogging, advertising programs, sale on eBay, affiliate marketing, online surveys, ebook publishing,... check these two websites. they provide lots of information and ideas to make money online. Hope it helps you.

None of the internet type wonder jobs are good to work from home - which I am sure you know.
If you want to make money then you need a skill, or to sell things, but you dont want Avon type jobs.
You could try simple things such as a paper round, not much cash but easy work.
Set up an ironing business, a good iron and board and charge £1 a shirt - place an advert in a newsagents window and persuade someone to collect and return the ironing.
If you can use a computer, type up peolpes CV's

There are loads of ideas you could work from home to do, but to make money from it you have to put in some time and effort. Very few companies will hire someone straight away to work from home |

I think the comment about get a job is just plan rude and no not all of them are scams . Such as Kleeneze etc they arent scams . They unfortunatly require money up front which I dont agree with . A goof home business is one you set up for yourself .
I setup and run my own company from home . Ive been going for 2 years now . But it does involve meeting with clients etc and drumming up new business but the basis of my business is home based .
However if you are looking for a flexiable part time job that suits youre own hours . On a self employed basis or a contract basis then contact me . I am always looking for staff. |

It's genuine and has integrity and makes money. But it does take time to BUILD the income, just like anything of value/worth.
Sure beats working my butt off for a small portion of someone else's $$! (AND I get to work at home, make my own hours, have tons of support and enjoy what I do. What else could I ask for? Okay...a get rich quick scheme that really works, but that's a fantasy. I'm happy!!!!)

I've been doing some work with www.elance.com the past week, all the work is home based, data entry, transcription etc. The only thing is you're competing against people from countries where the hourly rate of pay is a lot lower, so not sure if it would be worth it for you.
Also have a look at the jobs listed here, most are appicable to us,canada,europe, its quite good, thats where I found the above link.

Its been updated today to include some Craft type jobs which can be done from home, mainly re-distribution, but it possible to make good money from it if you work hard.
So many online jobs are out there. In fact, to do any online job, you need not want to invest anything. Make sure, you dont pay anything to get jobs online.
