Let me start by telling you this, I work for a midsized bank in Northwest Indiana.
There is no telling you how many people I see each day that tell me they have wired money back, this is no doubt a scam, but if you want to be amused here is how.
Ask for the check first, do not release any information whatsoever, none, they already have your address.
When you receive a check (which you won't because if you do not send them money they will not waste their time) deposit it in the bank and insist they send the item to collections, if the check clears you actually have beaten the crook.
You can also look up the routing number of any bank on abachecker.com
The routing number is a 9 digit number on the check it identifies the Bank and then further identifies the financial institution by a transit number, find the bank by the routing number call them and verify the legitimacy of the check.
I hope this helps, and whatever you do and however good it may seem, these people are professionals and have one goal -- to get your hard earned money!
We close and reopen account each day due to compromised activity, doctors, slackers, middle class people, anyone who thinks they can earn a quick buck by 'helping' someone out -- DO NOT DO IT , and if you must, get a check first and make sure it is COLLECTED and CLEARED before you do any further action on your end! |

Crap no don't give these crooks any bank account or personal information. You father will be a victim of fraud by theft of personal information. And what should you do? Thank your lucky stars your father did not become a victim. I get these things all the time. |

Unfortunately it is a well known trick to try to get your bank details and steal your money. Delete the message and forget it. |

It's a scam. Once they get your account number they'll clean out the account and any other accounts they can figure out from the information that you provide. |

If your dad didn't go in Spain maybe its a scam and if your dad don't pick a lottery in Spain then don't trust them with your back account. Unless there is something that proves that your dad went to spain and have the ticket. |

Got one today like yours except mine was from Yahoo.
This is a scam.
Anytime someone says you won something you didn't even
know about....that's a red flag.
When they want personal information ie bank account
that is a red flag.
When they want you to pay to 'process' that is also a red
flag.
Crooks are every where.
Always be on guard |
