First, forget about picking a company, any company, without doing some homework first, because most home based businesses are network marketing type opportunities. You can be successful and make money, but learn how first.
Here are some keys to being successful in any network marketing business.
1. Learn how to market and sell, globally, not just at 'arms length' and develop a marketing plan.
2. Reread #1 above 1000 times, because this is the key. With a good marketing plan and sales expertise, you can sell anything to anyone.
3. Pick a company with more than just one product and products that people will buy month after month, year after year. Ask yourself, 'Would I buy these products every month?'. A good network marketing company is one that you can retire on, not make a quick buck. If you set goals for yourself (financial, time, retirement, etc.), then the process of picking a company will be much easier.
4. Avoid any company that is a 'ground floor opportunity' or 'get on the wave now' deal. These are usually a juice or supplement only product and don't last long. My point in #3 above.
5. Work smarter, not harder. Your marketing plan should funnel prospects to you. Remember being busy is not the same as being productive.
6. No big upfront fees!

You should take in other people's children and provide a daycare service. You can easily charge at least $200 per week per child, if you are good with kids. You will have to set up a nice space for it, and hopefully you have a nice yard. Obviously this would be a real job, and you would really have to interact with the kids a lot, and have a very set schedule. Just check into your state laws, most have a limit on the number of kids you can watch before you have to get a license to do so. |

what you should do is see what is in demand for your area.. or find a passion and start there!

I was actually in the same boat as you. I wanted to start a home business so we can start a family and I can stay home. I did find one, well actually it kind of fell in my lap. You just have to find what you are interested in and look at 5 areas:
1. the company 2. the compensation plan 3. the need in market 4. the timing 5. the service/product
