Somebody PLEASE help me. I want (more like NEED) to start a home business but I don't have like $300, $200, or even $100 for a start up fee or just for info on a business that I may decide against. I am on disability and have to TRY and live on $700 a month (that's all I get and it's my ONLY source of income) I sent for the info and start up kit for SMC and got nothing but negative feedback from everyone I asked about it. So when the kit came I sent it back....I had to pay $39.95 for this thing and they tell me it's going to take 30-60 days to get my refund. I did not pay one of my monthly bills in order to have the money to send for this stuff. Now, not only do I find out that it's just junk, but I am out the money for possibly 2 more months! I am SOOO discouraged. Please don't suggest Mellaluka........just don't want to get involved in that. Any suggestions (serious ones) would be greatly appreciated. I have to find a way to make some money. Can't survive on $700! |

It generally takes money to start a business, as I'm sure you're aware. This is the only thing that I can think of that's free to learn and free to do. It's called Bum Marketing and every Internet Marketer out there is raving about it.
The idea is very basic, find some keywords on Google that have hardly any competition, write some articles and submit them to Ezine Articles and then watch your article rank high in Google. By putting a link in your bio to a related affiliate product (use Clickbank) people will click through your article and hopefully buy the product which can give you commissions of up to 75%.

this isnt really a home business kind of option, but you can make up to $500 extra every month. its the kind of thing that you can add on the side.
so here are some details:
-its free to try nothing to lose, no spam, no viruses
-try products and other programs and get paid to complete them
-if the server accept the survey, the offers you completed then they will give you a gold coin, with the gold coins you can trade them in for items or use them to get more cash

Starting a home business is not an easy task. There are many, many scams. Typically, if you want to start a business you do need some capital for computer equipment, etc. If you want to work for a company on a 1099 (independent contractor) basis, you more than likely need to invest in computer equipment as well. I understnnd the frustration.
I often ask people in similar situations if they have a service to offer. If so, they can market their service and that is the beginning of their business.
The other spectrum to starting a business is working for someone as an independant contractor. There are many options available, as well as many scams. You should never have to pay for a job...watch out for th ones who want you to pay.
Research has been done on several companies who 'hire' contractors to fulfill jobs such as virtual assistant (where you do admin. services from your computer for clients), data entry (yes, there are a few legit. companies), call center, online tutors, etc. http://www.ewomanweb.com has looked into many such companies.

The majority of home businesses requires you to sell a product. If you are not a good sales person then you need to look more towards something in your comfort zone. well.... the one thing you have to be is a sales person. If you can't talk the talk, you won't be able to walk the walk..
Some Home businesses my Ex did very well at:
1. Pampered Chef
2. Tupperware
3. Longaberger Baskets
You need to see what ISN'T where you are. If you are the "only game in town", you have possibilities. My ex did Tupperware and she could make the kind of money you need w/o batting an eye. Don't know what the startup would be, but, you can probably work out details.

I am a Shaklee distributor. I love it. I know, I know...... I tried Melaleuca, Rexall, Quixtar,,,,all of them. But, I really am sold on the Shaklee products AND I really enjoy the way I "sell". I do permission email marketing. I don't make lists of those people I know and tell them I want an appointment. I just listen to people. When they mention they have high cholesterol, I ask them if they would be interested in an email about a natural product that could make a difference. They say, sure, give me their email. I email the info. They either buy or they don't. No personal rejection face-to-face.
Anyway...I know it's not for everybody. I just have done a LOT of things so far (owned a pack n ship store, owned a Hallmark store, commercial real estate, etc.) and I am finally doing something I enjoy.
