I need my employees to complete their timesheets every week by COB Friday. But they never do it on time and I have to send out emails every Monday morning reminding them to do so. How can I make them enjoy doing their timesheets and make them do this on their on? |

There is no sweeter way to encourage results than impacting their pocketbook. I recently helped one of my small business coaching clients solve a huge problem. His entertainment company was finding it difficult to get the entertainers to make the customary call the Monday before the event. So... I suggested he dock their pay 50 bucks if they didn't. Guess what?? The entertainers make the call to the client on time every week now with no hassle for the owner - my client.
Your case with hourly wage earners could be helped if you simply didn't pay them unless they filled out their time sheets. Nothing gets performance in the workplace as quickly as failure to get paid. Or another option could be they are rewarded instead. Personally I like the less expensive solution of simply not paying them.

Make it a contest.
First 10 people to turn them in, get an extra five minutes at breaktime.
OR
Do a monthly drawing of everyone that has turned in their timesheets every week on Friday, one person gets to leave an hour early paid.
If positive reinforcement doesn't work......
Tell them if they can't turn in their timesheet when you ask, they can't have their checks when they want them. For the ones who don't have direct deposit, you can withhold their paycheck until the end of the day legally. You can't do anything with the direct deposit employees, though.
OR
If you tell them to do it and they don't listen, that's called insubordination. Give them a verbal warning and tell them the next one will be a written warning place in their personnel file. |

Just send a weekly stats on who all have completed their time sheets. People are forced to behave disciplined when they know that they are being tracked. Automate this process of weekly reminder/stats. |

Reality Discipline. The same as I use on my kids. The reality is, if they aren't responsible enough to complete their time sheets, then they don't get paid and have to wait until the next pay period. I think that would only happen once, and they would never forget to complete a timesheet again. |

Just Do one thing
Shout out loudly at one employee which u think as least devoted to ur company on the same issue.
and next time just sag that one.......... it ll create a panic in the other employees ;) |

Just tell them that you need them to fill out their time sheets in order to be in compliance with the labor laws..
However, if they are unable to fill out their time sheets on time, then you'll have to introduce them to the time clock, where they'll have to punch in and punch out before and after work. |

pay them more, give them more incentives to want to be at work or enjoy it. give out gift certificates, etc at the end of each month to those who excel at their jobs and then the others will follow. |
