She left uni a year ago with a 2:1 degree,she could do so much better for herself. She says she is happy where she is ,but most days she comes home exhausted because she virtually runs the place single handed. I think she is just being used. |

Running the place single handed may be giving her valuable business experience that she can use elsewhere. And even though she's getting exhausted, she might be enjoying the thrill of a past paced working environment.
If she's being 'used' she'll realise it and move on or ask for more pay. Or, it's up to her to be more assertive about what she takes on at work, if she is not happy with the situation |

First point is, it is really none of your business, she is an adult and makes her own decisions.
She may well be being exploited as such but you should be aware that around 50% of Uni graduates are still out of work 3 years after leaving Uni - still searching for that elusive ideal job that their qualifications 'entitle' them to! Your daughter is working and gaining vaulable experience that will stand her in good stead in the future. When she has had enough she will leave.
A degree in its-self does not guarantee a high flying career - the requirements in industry and commerce are different to that in academia. Think of a degree as the key that opens the first door. Looking back 35 years I think that all my degree did for me was getting me my first job - from then on it was up to me. |

Mom, your baby is growing up. Let her do so. If she's unhappy enough with her job, she'll figure out that she needs to take steps to change it. If she says she's happy, take her at her word. She's got to learn to be in charge of her own life, and you've got to learn to let her. |

Maybe she enjoys the responsibility and amount of control she has in the capacity of what she does. She says she is happy and that counts for a lot.
Although she is working hard and the store is taking advantage of her being a hard worker---she is gaining experience and she feels good about what she's doing.
Rather than criticize her decision to remain there, work on building her self-esteem and confidence so that she can recognize when SHE is reallly ready to move on.
I applaud her strong work ethic--it's missing in a lot of young people these days. Just let her know that you support her decisions--because if she's old enough to work hard, she's old enough to make the decision to stay or go. Just let her be. |

If you are sure that she is just being used, then discuss it with your daughter. Tell her the reality.Because if she found it herself, then I think it would be a bad. So you can prevent her from being used as she is working more than she can do.
In short,she should know the reality if she doesn't. |
