I’ve been working from home for some time now and it really is possible to make a great income. In order to find something that is legitimate, you must first understand what you are looking for (e.g. work or business opportunity).
Most online work requires you to have some sort of specialized technical skill sets. You should never pay to start an online job. Any site that requires you to pay to work is definitely a scam. On the other hand, if you are not technically qualified for most online jobs, then your best bet is starting your own home based business. Starting a business does require up front cost.
The quickest way I know to make some extra cash is by selling stuff on ebay or searching craiglist for work- these are normally only short-term fixes. I’ve tried them both and lost interest very quickly.
I’ve tried every different site imaginable to make money; including online surveys, reading emails, paid to look at websites, paid to surf, and the list goes on and on. It gives me headache thinking about it. I’ve even tried to sell my body to science, but the research center was too far away.
Bottom line...everything I just mentioned is by no means a way to generate a sustainable income. Most of these programs are scams. And for the very few that aren’t, they are a big waste of time.
If you’re an excellent writer, there are many wonderful opportunities for you. Search yahoo for freelance jobs- that should get you started.
If you’re like me, then you may not be a very talented writer or have any technical skills that are being sought by online employers. So that may leave starting an online business your only option. What’s needed to start an online business? A desired product or service (even better if you have a mix of both). Now again, if your like me, you may not have either. Answer? Sell other people’s products and services.
That brings me to my next point. What products or services should you sell? Sell what’s in high demand and desired by the international market (if you really want to make big money that is).
What’s one of the biggest international industries? The travel industry- $7 trillion a year and that number is expected to double by 2010. That’s a big piece of cake and it’s too easy to get your piece.
I myself am a Certified Travel Agent and a home business owner. I could’ve ended up being a number of other things, but I was lucky enough to stumble upon this opportunity after 9 months of searching for a way to feed my family off of online money. Now I earn more than enough money to feed my family and I get paid to travel. It’s a fun business! The earning potential is unlimited in my industry and it all depends on what you put into it.

You can absolutely make a great living online!
I actually work full time since being introduced to internet marketing. You can make an honest living online selling other peoples products...whether it's childrens toys or fitness products...there's so many things that you can sell and make an excellent profit off of!
