Don't get me wrong - surveys are fun and when you earn enough to get a check or other reward it is great, but it takes a lot of time to get to that point.
There are real work from home jobs out there. May I suggest sohojobs.org? I have found success with them and I don't have to sell anything or get all of my friends to sign up.

it's not that they're a scam, it's just hard finding the ones that offer well paying surveys.
I've used greenfieldonline, and have made up to $25 for a few surveys... but they only occurred every month or so. The rest were usually $2 to $5, and maybe once or twice a week if you're lucky.
Some use a point system, which can take longer to get enough points to earn $10.
Affiliate marketing might be a better way to make a few dollars a day, but you would need a website or blog to promote the products or websites you affiliate with. You would also have to have a popular website or blog to have the possibility of anyone clicking through to the affiliate sites.
What are your interests? Are you at home with children? Do you have other work experience?
Obviously there are other at home jobs that work similar to hourly rate jobs, like transcription, data entry, telemarketing, etc.
Let me know if you have any questions about the affiliate marketing, I've been doing that for about a year.

not all of the online surveys are scams, but you'll find it difficult to make anything decent from them, obviously not as a job.
I tried surveys at the beginning but it didnt work out, doing some data entry work at home now.

Paid surveys take way too much time and good luck finding a legit site. Any site that asks for money, OR you don't understand how the money is made, OR its too good to be true (get rich fast scheme) run! What I do and its totally free. Forever. I'm off with a broken hand, so it HAS to be free. You can put in a little time, or a lot of time. Its NOT a get rich quick scheme, but you can make a lot more money than working for someone else. It depends how good you are at it too. If you want contact me and I will send you the website. Its registered with the Better Business Bureau The video explains it all.
