I was going to suggest a temp agency. I know they take a percentage but the goal is to lead to stable employment. Also, temp agencies sometimes offer adult education classes at no charge like typing, computer skills, how to interview or write a resume, stuff along those lines. Just make sure you interview with a staffing agency that specializes in professional positions. Might want to steer clear of Labor Ready. |

First put your trust in God. Try a part time in a job that is not too demanding, that should warm you up. Ask Jesus for Help. |

After staying at home for 14 years and you have not stated whether you keep in touch with office work I imagine you are out of touch with the changes that are taking place out there.Since you have decided to go into the working world once again and those people of your age are perhaps more advanced than you and you will face much difficulties being a junior in an office if you do not mind that its OK.You may have to take orders and instructions from a very junior person in the office and received lower salary.
I suggest you go back and take up some courses or studies about doing your own business. You can start small but what ever you earn is yours. You set your own target and be independent. You do not have to come out with big capital. Most famous people start small and becoming big in a short while.some of the best time to do business is when the economy is in recession like what is happening in USA today. What ever it is I wish you luck and welcome to the real world. |

ease into it. start part time and not full time. just go one or two days a week and increase it over time. it's the best way. |

My Mom did that. She went to a temp agency first to get confidence. It depends what kind of degree you have, but it might not really be worth anything anymore. |

I would start with a temp agency. I wasn't a stay at home mom, but self-employed for 15 years and then a stay a home person for 5 - didn't feel like I had any skills either, but you'd be surprised, so give yourself a bit more credit, find some temp agencies, get registered and then wait, because it may take a while. I had to call them once a week to get them to finally give me an opportunity, but then once I had worked the first temp job with great feedback from the employer, it was a breeze.
You can do it...
~best wishes to you

Hit the temp agencies. Get your foot in the door, get the skills up and going again. Then you can reapply to other jobs. |

You didnt say what kind of degree, but if you want parttime a great place to start in the business world is a real estate company. Preferably a large one. They are always crying for receptionists, light office skill workers etc. It certainly drops you right in the business world and you can always take it from there. Moms who havent been in the work force for years sometimes feel they have nothing to offer in the work field. So untrue. You may discover you would like to sell real estate or not..lol. Its stressful and the least, but good money is to be made. Even not, this will get your first step out the door almost painless. Good Luck and I wish you the best!! |
