How do I make a yard sale in only two days?

rough but clean much of the items to sell get a pin marker
some colored pricing labels two long picnic tables you can borrow these from a church or a friend or neighbor or just pull the patio tables into the garage and stage them mark tables onto thirds by masking tape from the hardware drawer
the thin stuff about a inch wide is good as pricing labels too
just price everything before the sale and addvetise the sale
by putting out signs on the most busy corners off main streets leading to your house use the back window of your cars
tape the signs hand written out with lrge enough words to been seen from long distances so they can read them as they pass the car on the main street and lead them in to your sale. use several signs on poles and even get out your dads
saw horses with signs on the the corner of your street so they know they are headed to the right sale and then if you have a chalk board place it out front at the curb well seeable from all turns into the houses area make sure all items have a $ price
big and well presented cleaned off and if they need a plug to test have a drop electric cord ready plugged in for use.
mark all items about 1/4 to 1/2 the original cost most things should be evn dollar amounts I find a bunch items for a dollar
and make up one laundry basket filled with free giveaway stuff to keep the little ones busy out and away from the stuff u want to sell fill will books kids old toys small stuff like boxes of crayons and chalks and balls and toys and figures and and
small stuff you kds dont use that will clear out all those toy truncks and the gargage stuff thats not used any more.
Then on the tables mark the one end with 1$tape off the middle and the other side three dollars and fill it up with the things you want that amount of money for. then on the second table tape off three spots mark 5$ ,10$ and as marked
on the table that way you have to tables to set out on the sides of the drive and place all the big items around and under the table in baskets and roll the other items out to the front of the garage and set some chairs and a radio or a tv
so you can stay and watch all the sales use a apron to make change go the day before to the bank and get six fives
and about fifty dollars in ones and five tens. and a five in quarters for the barterers that will try to buy a $1 dollar item
for 50cent. so you can make change when he asks.

sold what for whom and the buyer if he can pay with a local check If you take checks which make it easy for thebuyers

I sold my sons work out equipment and the barbells check came back insuficient so I had a phone number and a cel the cell caught the guy and I asked he bring cash it was for 100
so he brought me cash very apologetically so it was cool most people who go to garage or yard sales are very legit
and on the up and up some do this as a business for resale
so dont barter down unless you dont care someone is making money off you.
Open early the day of the sale the early birds will appreciate

I serve coffee and lay out nilla wafers or some double stuff cookies and the kids make up some juice, coolaide
and sell it on the end of the drive. make sure the drive is free of rocks for limit trips and falls make signs off the walk area on treesor on the garage door hanging out so they see it from the street place ribbon streamers and maybe balloons
hanging from the flag pole out front so it easyto determine it your house thats having the sale not you having a yard party
ha ha ha some dont know to tell the difference. the more signs out the better if you have furnitre to huge to put out
set them nearest the garage door to block people from thinking your good tool chest is part of the pickings and
drape off all other items not for sell so they know the items out in the tables are the only sale items not the boat or the
jet skies or the harley in the corner onoly the tables on the yard and the rices clearly marked you done sit back make some coffee and sip away watching the bucks flow your way
make the date of your sale on or real near the first of the month when the checks for social security and dependant checks come in to the household if you make the sale during the middle of the month or the end of month and or during the week your sale will be a dud and I mean no one will come
fridays sat and sun are best the first of the month between the first and the fifth by then every one all household have some cash to spent. they look for yard tool and mowers
and old camping gear and or coolers lamps shelves
games qnd books and clothes specially old jeans or jackets
new t shirts never worn are good sellers and toys
mirror sell well in the suburbs mismatch coffe mugs
mismatched silverware for the newly weds old trunk for storage
old records and tapes movie youve watched dvds.
old sterio equipment the extra mixers and odd bowls
well used old skillets and some decorater items
Ive even sold hlf burnt candles and old flower arrangements knickknacks odds and ends I ask the neighbors fodonations too so they can add to the fun and free up room
just to fill in blank spaces as the sale gets winding down and empty looking. I take a few ites from them all with a price in mind and a cell number in case i get a bite but the price is being downed by five or so bucks.
I ask family to clean out thier storage areas for get rid items anill bag them if they are toys for a three dollar fun grab bag
and will refill the freee basket if the sale is doing gang busters the best I ever did having a three day sale was 1500$
on one weekend started friday and sold off aqlmost all
I had in the sale. most the time I make around 150$ minimum
It is usually bad to have a sale mid month every one is
off in the summer months and are gone so early spring
on the first of the month sat and sun or at the last of the month and look for checks and take money orders for big items
this way I sale out too but I have to deal with posting a bunch of checks and money orders if I redecorate thehouse and
clear a bedroom or two rooms for new fresh decor. I sometimes redecorate and sale the furniture too cause
I had a extra room with a twin bed set and matching chests
which needed a update and I had painted it b utter yellow
so I sold in the sale all the furniture one piece at time and a rocker with the chest of drawers and the bed going to the same person the end table and the rocker to another the mirror and lamp to yet another and the dresses last.
I then had half the money i needed for the new queen bed
and linens I bought from ross all matched then I found a wicker dresser and I bought a huge new mirror and frame
at walmart it looked very open and light very inviting.
Luckily my sister came out that year and said it was a very comfortable new matteress with a pilow top she sank into
and she went home very rested. Cheers have a good sale.
I like a good yard.garage/tag sale. tags are easy and all they do is hand you the tag you drop into a bag next to your
stage area and collect the cash make change and everyone is happy
