Hi,
First, remember that all business is a risk...it will require time, research and asking the right questions.
I have an e-commerce business and I am involved in network marketing.
I know that there will be plenty of posts from people who got burned from home based business scams and many will be reluctant to go to a website to check it out.
There ARE legitimate home based business opportunities out there !
If you are interested in Network marketing, you may want to check out a legitimate home based business that focuses on building a business based on books, self-improvement, and a culture of charity.
The founders are Robert Allen (Multiple Streams of Income) and Richard Paul Evans (The 5 Lessons a Millionaire Taught Me)
It doesn't get more legit than that.
This is not a get rich quick scheme by any means.
There is extensive company and team training, so you will learn how to build this business the right way.
It is a dynamic, rapidly growing company. But, it is network marketing and you have to build the business. But, it is a great product, great people and fun.
Make sure to exercise due diligence when you are researching any home based business opportunity.
Also, try to find a product or service that you are passionate about. It makes it much easier to be motivated...and if you are motivated you stand a better chance at being successful.
If you choose a Network Marketing company, make sure they have a money back guarantee, have a great marketing system and provide plenty of support and training.
Try to get in on a company opportunity or training call to see what the business is all about and the type of individuals who are running the business.
Contact me through my profile if you are interested in additional information.
Good luck in your work at home search.

It depends on the laws of your state. Check with your comptroller & the Small Business administration. As far as what to do, find something that interests you. Maybe an existing hobby you have. If you enjoy your work you're more likely to succeed. Most small businesses fail because of a poor business plan.
Good Luck |

I retired several years ago and was looking for something that had relatively low start up cost and something that I could set my own hours. In April, I joined a industry leader in the health and wellness field...I love it, there is no inventory to carry, their tv infomercials gets me my customers so I don't have to bother family and friends to buy the product.
My web address is www.healthandwealthalways.com, if you would like to know more.... |

Hey, I've been self employed for 15 years. My husband and I used to do construction type work. And then about 7 years ago we bought a franchise. It's a lot of hard work tho because you always have to be down there. So I found a business that I'm building right now. And I love it because I can work on it when I have the time. It's great since I'm a mom and I don't always have a lot of FREE time. The other great thing for me is that the company I joined doesn't require me to pay anything up front. So I feel that there is no risk. And finally and I'm sure some will not agree with me. But I also have experience in sales. And I find that it's really time consuming especially if you have to continually find new buyers for your products or if you have to stay on top of what is new and what it does for you...etc. With MPM there is no selling. Lastly the company that I'm working with is continually thinking of innovative ways to help you build your business better. If anyone would like to know more please send me an email. Or just go to www.HallPowerMall.com and you can find out more or join there....for FREE of course. ;) |

The best bussines at home is to work in advertising, there are big fims on planet who need image, and they pay alot for advertisin, so ,you can create an aconut ( or many acounts, if you whant ) at a advertising firm; those big firms will buy from your firm image's and you will receve a part from that money. I'm doing this too, and it's a great job, becouse you stay at home in your bead or your chair, and make money... for more information in advertasing, just contact me by mail at : andrei_as_boogye2@yahoo.com ! Also it's a safe job becouse you don't need to pay anything if you dont whant ... you can receve money by : Ceck, Western Union, Via Card etc... |

There are many, many websites giving advice on starting a home business. Here is one which has some good basic advice:
http://www.homeworking.com/library/business/index.htm
My advice to anyone starting a business (or looking for employment of any kind, really) is:
1) Look at and list your skills. Don't forget that many things can be counted as 'transferrable' skills. Just bringing up children and managing a house teaches many valuable people and organisational skills.
2) List your likes and dislikes - hobbies, interests and the things that do nothing for you as well. Basing your business on something that you enjoy doing or know something about is bound to be more pleasurable for you and more meaningful to your customers.
3) Make sure that you can organise your time and resources to be compatible with the kind of business you want to start. It would be little use setting up a business where your main point of contact with your customers is the phone if you don't have a phone or are likely to be out a lot.
4) NEVER EVER be persuaded to pay money to someone to set up your business (I mean, of course, those adverts which promise £500 - £3,000 a week working from home and give a phone number or an email address). They are all scams and when you do eventually find out what the business is about, you will find that you are asked to buy their product in order to sell it to someone else answering a similar advertisement. Beware, too, of websites that offer 'Money for Life' without any obvious way of finding out exactly what is involved before you commit yourself with your email address. You can be sure that they are selling you something and it is very likely that the 'business' they are offering is merely selling the 'business opportunity', just as they are!
5) You may need to make SOME investment, depending on the business, of course but plan ahead - see what stationery you might need or what equipment would be advantageous. If you decided to sell on eBay, for example, a simple digital camera would be useful ... even phones can have an adequate one in them these days. Not all resources, however, need cost anything initially. It is fairly easy to set up a website or a blog for free in order to advertise yourself.
6) Once you have decided on the type of business, do as much research as you can, both online and locally, to find out what the competition is like and, perhaps, how you can offer something a little different from them.
7) Go ahead and give it all you've got! Be prepared for setbacks and disappointments and don't let them discourage you! You have time to invest and that is one of your biggest assets. |
