I have good ideas, but I do not know business law or how to run a good, successful business. I do not know where to get a business loan or what kind are available. Please help.

I amguessing you are under 30 so I would suggest the Princes Trust.
They can offer you a loan / Grant to get your business up and running.
That said you cannot go to them saying i want to start up my own business, you need to have an idea. With your experience you maywant to think about offering start ups advice on finance and marketing issues, two big starting points when running your own business.
Youwill have to write a business plan and have it looked at by the princes trust but if they like it and think it can be successful they will gie you up to £3000.
Before you go to them have a clear idea of what you want to do though. No one will be interested in you if you just say you want to start up your own business. Be clear and confident too.
They offer you a mentor if you get funds so you will have help, and they have tons of info on loads fo areas, you cannot go wrong.

One simple piece of advice I can give is to NOT get caught up in the process of running a business... running a business is not what you are doing, providing the service is what you are doing.
So if you want a business that sells cakes, don't set up some management company to sell cakes... simply get some cakes and sell them. The rest comes along as and when you need it. |

There are so many things that you need to know. Without knowing what you are thinking of, any advice is hard to give.
The amount of new legislation flooding in from Brussels makes life hard for everyone. You can have been running a business for 20 years and all of a sudden you need new licences and permissions.
You have been given sound advice. I suggest you also contact The Federation of Small Businesses. They are very good at keeping up to date with all the requirements.
Business Link are OK as long as you know exactly what you want to do. Be aware that they are part of the government and may have a different agenda. |

You mentioned that you have some experience in marketing and that you know a bit about networking.......I'm sure you do have good ideas......understanding business law and how to actually run a business is very hard to grasp and who has time to learn all of this information while starting a business anyway? Why not consider a company that does it all for you?.
How much do you have set aside to start a business?
What if you only needed $299.00 to start a Global business and wouldn't need a business loan? Is that something you would be interested in knowing more about? |
