To join Avon costs $10 at a face to face meeting or you can join Avon online for $20. See my profile for more info. Don't go to avon.com and fill out the form there because your info with be sent to the local district manager who will call you (eventually) and make an appt to meet and sign you up. You don't want to join under the DM because they don't have the time to help a new rep get started.
The only thing you need to sell Avon is the brochures. You do need to purchase them each campaign The more you buy the less they cost. IE: 10 brochures is $6 ....100 brochures is $20
The average customer order is $25....I find my average order is usually a little higher. However taking $25 as an average at 40% commission you earn about $10 a customer. If you sell to 20 customers you would make $200 per campaign. Now if some of those sales are in the 20% commission you would make a little less.
Its nearly impossible to pinpoint any type of $ figure. First and foremost how you work you business is key. Then your commissions are based on your order size after the first 4 campaigns of a 50% commission. As seen below
$1550 or more 50%
$900 - $1549 45%
$425 - $899 40%
$285 - $424 35%
$145 - $284 30%
$25 - $144 20%
$00 - $24 0%
There are also licensed items such as Disney, Curves etc plus watches, shoes and handbags that are at a 20% fixed commission rate. So what your customers buy can vary the amount your would make. You definitely want to find cosmetics and skin care customers they are the way to make money...especially those interested in skin care as they are the higher priced items. Cosmetics and skin care are things customers will order again and again as they run out. The fixed commission items are definitely good for raising the total order size and by doing that may raise the commission you make on the Avon core products. So for some ideas on what you could make....
As a David McConnell Member which is product sales of over $66,500 you would make about $30,000 a yr.
If you go into leadership as an Executive Unit Leader you could make approximately $56,000 a yr.
Senior Executive Leaders make about $134,000 a year. Combining leadership with sales is the best way to make good money with Avon.
If you make President's Club which is sales of $10,100 in a year you are guaranteed a 40%/25% commission each campaign regardless of the order size from the time you make PC and the whole next selling cycle. That is something all reps should shoot for. It is definitely the way to make good money. Last year I sold $20,000 and made Honor Society. The perks didn't change as far as commissions go but they do offer other things for achieving that level of selling.
It is possible to make good money with Avon if you work your business and run it like a business but its not going to happen overnight. Most people usually give up before they get started. They don't manage the business properly and end up spending more than they make.
As with any job, if you don't show up or you don't do the work you won't get paid. If you don't work your Avon business and put in the time needed to find new customers and build your business you arent going to make any money either.
If you opened a bakery and ate all the merchandise you won't make any money because you have nothing to sell. Likewise if you spend all the money you make on your own personal Avon products you won't see a profit either.
You want to batch your deliveries to save time and gas. Organize them so you deliver it all to one area in one trip. Give any customers who live to far to deliver a free shipping code out of the web office.
Be sure to submit your order on time, make the payments when due and only submit one order per campaign. As long as you keep to the schedule and do things properly you won't get charged the extra fee's and lose your profits.
I have seen people not do the above and wonder why they didnt make money. Avon is a well known name and has quality products at affordable prices. However you do need to put time in finding the people who love it. They are out there.
I sold $20,000+ in products my first year. There are those that will say that Avon ladies are a dime a dozen and that may be true HOWEVER I know of many other Avon ladies within a 20 mile radius of me (and probably don't know the many others) and I still managed to sell $20k in a year's time. One of these ladies sells $100k + a year.
I work my business a little more than part time because I have long term goals that I wish to achieve. I do it around my part time job outside the home in addition to taking care of my family. Its impossible to give you a firm dollar figure of how much I make as an Avon rep and Unit Leader but in the last year it has ranged anywhere from $300-$700 per month. As my business continues to grow, the money I am making increases as well. |

Hi there! Just stumbled onto your question. I am a Unit Leader with Avon so I can pretty much tell you anything you need to know. If you want to sign up, you can do it online. Go to www.start.youravon.com and enter passcode "corem". That will take you to the process of filling out your information. It costs $20 to sign up and you receive a kit from Avon that includes brochures, an order book, samples, training materials and a free gift. You make (earn) 50% of your first order and then 50% of your next 2 orders if they are $50 or more. After that it ranges anywhere from 20% to 40%. Naturally the more you sell the more you make. You do not, however, get a check from Avon. The way it works is this:
Hand out books, get customer orders, place orders online, get products, give out orders, receive payment, pay Avon. Whatever monies are left after you pay Avon is yours to keep.
You can also do leadership which is what I do. That is where you recruit new downline members and when you get 5 members you become Unit Leader and start making money off of your downline.
If you are really interested, contact me at chrissymouse1212@yahoo.com and I can tell you more.
PS This is the BEST time to sell because all holiday items are in the book now and people go crazy for that stuff! |

I started selling Avon over two years ago. What you make depends on the effort you put into advertising. You get 50% earnings the first four selling cycles in order to have time to build a customer base. Thereafter it is 20-50% depending on your order size. I would love to talk with you about advertising ideas and to answer any questions you may have. Please email me and let me know if you prefer contact by email or phone and the best time to contact you. I look forward to having you as a member of my team. |

When you join Avon it is your business so you do what you choose to do with it as you please.
Personally for me it has been worth while. I am able to make $250 every 2 weeks in addition to my full time income.
Not sure if you are aware but now you can sign up to become a representative online plus it is only $10 to get started and you could sign up now online. Plus, with all the support that is available out there you should be able to make a great income.
If you do happen to be interested and are ready to get started just go to my website and click my name so that I could email you online application website information.
Hope that helped answer your question! |

I first started Avon after seeing an ad in the newspaper and ringing that person- or maybe if you know someone that does Avon they could give you the area manager's phone number.
I did it for a few years, but I didn't really sell as much as some people do, so didn't make that much. Basically you make a percentage of what you sell, it goes from 15percent if you sell about $100.00 worth($15.00) to 25 percent if you sell over about $180.00(I think that's the amount- might have changed). So if you sold roughly $200.00 worth, you'd make $50.00 and so on if you sell more, you make more. You also have to buy the books and pay delivery(Was about $7.00 for delivery, but might have changed)
I have actually given it up, because I really wasn't making much ,but maybe you'll sell more than I did |

Um.. Usually that's only for the schools, Or Pay by cash. Like if you are paying for Club Penguin and you write a check for $80.00 For 1 year.. You go on Avon Services and it has a adress Avon Court in Charolettesville and you send it to avon. But it's only for PaybyCash and Schools.. |
