The web syte is not so good for local advertising.
News ads may be a little advance and expensive for your small business.
I think the best in your situation is word of mouth and going from door to door asking. I would target homes with single/elderly widowed ladies. They are most likely not to be able or have a dependable person to help.
As you roam the neighbor hood look for the lawns with the taller grass and let them know of your services.
When I was blessed with a brand new riding mower cheap. I would cut the lawns for free with the high grass. They were surprised and somewhat ashamed and offered to pay me to continue.
I would only accept a token amount for gas. Also when others saw me cutting the grass often someone would stop me and ask me to cut theirs. |

The best way to get your lawn business going is by being good at your job people will tell other people and so on and so forth so work hard at your lawn service and people will notice word of mouth that's how U get it going |

It's best to see how it works with word of mouth like have your parents tell their friends and then have your friends tell their parents.. after that, send out flyers in the neighborhood and around town, and maybe put it in the paper? best of luck, my moms cleaning business started by word of mouth and is huge, & she hasn't advertised yet ! |

Make flyers nd post them aroung your neighborhood...but dont put them in the mailbox...thats illegal. And them if you want to go farther, post them on bulletins in stores or telephone poles. |

1)Post some flyers at the local supermarket, most have community bulleten boards.
2)Tell people.
3)Put an ad in the local paper, they're usually cheap.
4)Print up coupons and put them on cars. |

Well besides newspapers and printing out flyers I have 1 semi-extreme risky idea.
Just go to a house that needs mowing and have at it. When the owner ask you what your doing give them your flyer with your number and business name on it. Then say this was your free sample. Assuming you did a good job you should be getting a phone call. I think you should charge 15-20 dollars depending on the size of the lawn. Maybe up to 30 if your doing backyard and fertilizing things.
Good luck.
Or go door to door asking. |

I would make a website and then write in on Michael Vick's forehead. |

put up big signs, and make up posters, and drive around at night and put them in peoples mail boxes. lol try not to go too slow though at night cuz you'll look like a creep. lol ive had past expirience. you could also offer to take care of the neighbors lawn if they ever go on vacation. good luck!!
p.s., its not illegal if u put the flyer behind the red flag on the mailbox, or in those little bucket things that hang off the side. lol if u know what i mean |
