I have a receptionist at work, she treats me basically like the crap of her shoe.
I have tried being polite, never let it bother me when her and some of the younger staff went out to lunch without inviting me. (She organised it btw)
But now she calls me wierd for supposidly listening in on her conversation, when all i was doing was cleaning the kitchin!
Any advice?

What type of job is it and how long have you been there? What is your position and what is hers? If it bothers you that much and it effects you work duties then Talk to your boss about it. She sounds like a work bully. This will end up causing problems for you in your job |

You will never win with her. When I encounter people like that, and I often do, I just feel sorry that they aren't able to connect and I treat them with pity and hope that someday for their sake they get enlightened. |

Try to keep yourself busy with other stuff not related to office politics, yeah it sucks that she's being such a ****** but just be cool and ignore her, you have to realize that there are a lot of stupid people that just don't get it and think they can treat people how ever they want. Just IGNORE her and don't waste anymore time or energy on this person. |

Let me guess....you fancy the pants off her. She's more trendy and more attractive than you and therefore feels more powerful... If I were you, I'd continue with the polite bit "Good morning, goodbye etc" and leave it at that. Don't give her the chance to think you're hanging around her. Go straight to where you're suppoded to be and walk by her if she's around. Keep it civil, but nothing else at all. She obviously doesn't like you. Never mind - ignore it. |
