People will tell you to only buy from sellers with really good feedback scores, but be careful. As I found out the hard way, there are ways for sellers to manipulate their feedback to make it look much better than they deserve.
On the bright side, from my experience, most eBay sellers are good folks and are not out to deliberately rip you off. Just be cautious and read the feedback comments carefully, don't just look at their feedback score, read the comments left by other buyers. If the feedback comments seem vague to you, don't buy.

Dont ever trust a sob story and go out of your way to help a person in africa. Do not accept western union transfers. Dont deal with africa period!

Reputable Sellers and Buyers.
And keep in mind if it seems "Too Good To Be True" is usually is!!
I have been buying and selling on ebay for many years without any probs except for a deal that was too good to be true, this was eventually resolved via internal ebay and PayPal procedures :))

curious115
stay away from it.

i've never been scammed with ebay.
but i'll tell you that you can make sure
their ratings (feedback) are no lower
than like 95%. usually people are
pretty honest from what i've got so far.

I trust eBay sellers. Buy from a seller with a high degree of positive feedback. Perhaps someone with > 1,000 sales and >98% positive feedback.

Of about 200 purchases of varying value I've only been ripped off once. At the time if I'd known I'd have reported the seller to get my money back.

Check the comments and user history. If there is a positive history, then you're pretty safe. Paypal has a buyer protection type of thing you should check into, and use them as a payment method.

There are all kinds of rules and procedures in place to avoid scams, to report them and for recompense. More than in the rest of the world.

Do your research on the product and seller. If you know you want to buy a set of tools on ebay, look that item up and find something similar on Amazon, or in the store to see how much you should be paying. Next, pick a seller and read their ratings. You can contact the seller and ask more questions...if you do not get anything back, steer clear.

check their ratings, go thru the comments of previous buyers that have bought from them. Also establish communication with them. email them see how promptly they respond to your questions.

Several ways, you look at the feedback if its good at least 99% or above and the person has a state connected to his sn those are good signs. Buy from people with more than 10 feedback, use only Paypal to pay the individual; that way if the person doesn't send you the item you open a dispute with the seller. If the end if the seller doesn't respond or send the item.. you get your money back so its all good.

Buy from somebody who has a high rating and has sold a lot of things.

Personally, I can't stand ebay. My boyfriend is always buying stupid crap from it, and he's been scammed several times. People will say the item is new, but when he gets it, they are old and nasty.

I don't trust it.

Ask for the product first then you send the money
