I hate to say it but I think you may already be in trouble. You describe her as "hot", which definitely is subjective. Nothing wrong with noticing, totally inappropriate in the workplace. And your position as her supervisor is undermined.
Have you noticed - some of your male customers truly expect and enjoy her attentions (it used to be called harmless flirting). She has learned to adapt and obviously "buttering" up her male colleagues/customers works for her. She's totally unaware how inappropriate it is, probably because she has no intention of letting things progress any further.
Tread very softly, pick your battles carefully and decide what is productive and what is distracting.

This is most likely her personality.. Call her into your office away from everyone else and talk to her about her actions.
not only will this take care of the problem but will keep you a good emplyee that is a great worker..
Tell her that her flirting with you is disturbing and that she needs to stop it.. and as for the customers some of them like it and it could be the customers that are causing it too..
being nice and talking to customers somedays is hard work. and you have to react equally to how they are acting.. She probably brings you alot of business so tell her just to tone it down with the customers also..
hope it works , would be a shame to lose a good worker..
but what ever you do talk to her in private as to not embarrass her in front of others.

If you don't like it, than fire her. Otherwise, stop whining about a "hot" woman being flirtatious. People don't shut their personality off just because they are at work. Most people enjoy women that are outgoing and friendly. I know I do, but I am not a sour puss. |

Call her into your office (with the door open...of course) and quietly reason with her.
Tell her to...
-calm down and explain to her the ramifications of her overtly sexual behavior, and
-curb her enthusiasm because her actions can open the door for sexual-litigation against your company from all sides.
The key to dealing with her is to COVER YOUR @SS!
Give her a few weeks and look for marked improvement in her behavior.
If after a few weeks, you see any remnants of her old self, write her a formal letter (a warning).
Give her another few weeks to improve.
If after this time, there is no improvement, show her the door!
In the long run, your bottom-line will aprrectiate it! |

You need to be very careful, because if you handle this incorrectly, you are wide open to a sex discrimination suit. First you need to document the behavior in writing. Have at least three situations descibed factfully, and with any witnesses. Then you need to give a written warning, based on the 3 cases. The warning needs to explain precisely why the behavior is unacceptable, and what the consequences will be if repeated. If you have a partner, or anyone in a higher supervisory position than the employee, you should include them in the meeting, to protect you in the case of future lawsuit. |
