Basically setting up the web site is easy, choosing a provider that makes it cheap and easy for you is harder, mainly as there are so many and it is not always obvious what services you require at the outset. People giving advice often have an alternative motive but by far the hardest job is to get reasonably high rankings on the search engines.
Use your own experience, go to your favourite search engine and search for the key words for your business. How, far down the list do you normally search? What is the content of the top ten sites - usually to get a high rating you must provide a lot of information. There are skills and techniques that you can employ to improve your rating but beware of spam companies that promise the earth. |

Very if you know what you're doing! I have recently set up my own business and couldn't afford to pay for someone to do a web for me so I downloaded 'NVU' (google it, it's a free download) and spent weeks learning how to create web pages and publishing etc, I've done it now and I'm really pleased and amazed I've achieved it by myself, it cost nothing and I only pay £5 a month for my hosting, It gets more difficult if you want to install shopping carts, all my sales are done by Paypal much easier. Google Beddingfield Bears and you'll see my site - not fantastic but pretty good considering I was a PC dummy! |

I set up my website with Microsoft office live in an evening, and maintaining it and adding content etc takes me about 2 hours a week. I had no web design knowledge or html experience and found it easy to use.
If you fancy knowing what you can get read more about it here (there's also a link to look at some case studies of what other people have been able to do with office live) http://www.newbiztips.net/webhosting.aspx |

If you have software like Microsoft FrontPage and a host like Tripod.com, its very easy. If you can use Microsoft PowerPoint, you can use FrontPage.
FrontPage is not the only webpage-making software out there, and Tripod is not the only host site-these are just what I use and I find them very user friendly.
Hope this helps. Good luck. |

Try yahoo small business services. Decide on a domain name, buy it from yahoo and they'll help you set up a website with their website builder - it's very easy, just fill in the blanks. |

As with any website creation, there are companies who will do it for you, for a fee, but you can get it done for free.
You will need a domain name first. That bit is easy.
When yoursite is set up, use the link below and get paid for just sitting on your backside answering people's blogs etc. |
