My dream is to start my own buisness planning childrens partys as I have seen many people do but I know I can't just start with a huge business so I will probably just paint faces and then grow from there. I have seen many people start their own buisness without going to school for business but is it better to spend the money on going to school for it? I am also not sure if I could get enough business from this and might have to work another job so I'm not sure what I should do. In High School I took a transition to college math glass my senior year and hated it, It was very hard and I hardly passed. I am afraid that I will fail going to school for business my mom says that their are tons of help but I was just wondering what you guys opions where. |

as for 'college' for business ownership, skip it.
go to library and read what other self employed people do to become successful, then hire those degreed folks. |

is fairly easy, many trade school offer business program, part of their two year program. a senior college (4 yrs or more) offer more depth of course but starting your own biz trade school can accomplish that. just remember to take a law class. |

It really depends what school you want to get into. You will not be able to get into university with any college high school courses. You need university maths like Calculus, advanced functions, et cetera. First find out what school you want to go to, then take night school for the extra H.S. math courses you need.

Start small with your face painting, and learn and grow your business as you go.
Have a day job and do the face painting/party thing part-time until it grows into a full time job.
As it grows, you will need to learn accounting and how to hire assistants etc., money management. You may already know some of that stuff. |

First of all i would suggest taking some business courses.You don't have to take a lot at a time just one class at a time. Find one you like and would be of help. Bookkeeping would be a good start. Is there a community college in your area? You could also ask those you know who did start businesses on their own to seek their advise. Being afraid of failing is not a good idea. Just because you had difficult time with college math class doesn't mean you will fail at other classes. You are already one up on business classes because you won't have to learn to use a computer. But learning to use a computer for business purposes would be a big help. |
