Hello friend, You can try your luck on the net. But any business online or offline has to be plannned well..Make out your plan before you start spending any money.
1. Beware of lot of online scams on internet. Anybody asking money for registering for online work is 99 % scam.
2. If you come across any opportunity, verify it is not scam at sites like www.scam.com or search for 'online scams' on google.
3. With my experience I feel there are following ways to earn money online
~ If you are good in software use rentacoder.com or elance.com for getting worthwhile work.
~ elance.com also has opportunities for proof readers, editors for writing articles, ebooks.
~ Make a site on about your business, hobby, passion etc. Then monetise by using google adsense, affiliate programs,sell ebooks, sell your services etc etc. With your current experience you can definitely make a website. It is hard work iitially but it pays many times over, it is like a business.
~ Make a blog and monetise when it pickup traffic
~ Sell items on e-bay
4. I suggest you make a website for your business or find a topic on what to make a website, here are few suggestions
5. Making a site involves lot of patience and you have to write quality content to pull traffic. One thing is assured, if you write good content on topics people like to read, success is assured. For example you can make a site based on your work experience.

Today internet become very big market for everyone.

The first step is to identify what your business is and what customers or clients you wish to attract. You will never be able to achieve your goals if you haven't set them. Be realistic. Write them down so you can watch them. That is the premise of a business plan, which I highly encourage you to write. Make sure you are legally and financially covered. You should start off contacting your local city hall to explain your business and find out what permits you need and the cost for them. Contact your insurance company (or get one) to insure legal protection. Get ahold of your state taxation dept and the IRS. I would like to add some points to help you to start business.
Your Key Areas are:
1) Your Contacts.
2) Yours & Customer's Relation.
3) Your Competitors & their market share
4) Your Co's USP (Unique Selling Preposition).
Once you are thorough in all these above mentioned points, then, nobody can't stop you.
Prior to this, make sure you are putting the hard efforts to make your business to stand strong, then think of making profits, if at all you make loss, need not worry, just keep on working & you will find Success & Profits. Whatever comes & goes, but be prepared & stay calm always, which will indeed help you grow day by day.
