Ours is a nice enough bloke, full of chat, and takes about 25 minutes to do all the windows on the outside only, and charges £15
Hold on I thought £30 per hour is not bad !
Oh, he does a good job, and we use him about once a month.
( I am scared of heights, or I would do it myself.
But if I kind of round it all up, he is collecting about £40, 000 a year, given a 40hr week and three weeks holiday.
Ok overheads - a small van, some ladders, and a sqidgy thing or three.
Erm, do I see a problem here ?
Or is that just the going market rate ?
I suppose it varies, but I am in rural Bedfordshire, with basically 12 simple double-glazed windows to do.
So that is £1.25 a swipe.
I am in the wrong business !
I want a team of folks out there with the suds !

window cleaning is a great business to get into. my mate takes around £1500 a week in profit and he only works a day or two. hes got 4 employees that work for around £200 pw. to be earning that kind of money your going to have to spend around 60 grand. window cleaning rounds are sold by other window cleaners or u can pick up windows on newly built houses by going speaking to the new occupier of the house and if they decide they want u to clean windows then the job is yours. quality of the round depends on how close each house is to each other, the price of each clean, monthly or fortnightly clean.all these factors can make a round good or bad. if you have money to invest you could be earning alot each year without even working. good luck |

My window cleaner is doing fine. We live in a small 2 bed end of terrace house and have been married 38 years, we bought the house off the local authority and have just swopped our old car in because the other one was 13 years old. Not every one is raking it in we are both near retirement age and have always worked so give us a break, and if you don't want a window cleaner get off your *** and do it They work all year round not just the summer |

About as good as yours.maybe slightly better .I pay the same rate .but my window cleaner has a team of cleaners that he pays cash in hand .who also do cleaning in other streets.. |

have you ever tried the product they have on mkt, you hook in into your garden hose and spray outside windows height depending on water pressure avail.,an very inexpensive way to not only clean yourself, and Will not kill plants or animals/children no drying or squeegeeing |

i do my own windows because the last window cleaner i had got put in jail for burgling houses...luckily not my house, but he used his job to look into peoples homes then he'd break in and rob them...the swine.. |

I think you might be missing the fact that he has to travel from house to house, building to building, street to street and town to town in order to get to the windows.
You live in rural Bedfordshire so he is unlikely to be able to get all his customers in a 5 mile radius.
Overheads - a small van, some ladders, and a squidgy thing or three, cleaning fluids, shami's, sponges, very warm clothes for the winter, buckets, petrol, insurance (van, personal, public liability [bucket falling on head, breaking a window etc]), MOT, tax for the van... and probably more I can't think of off the top of my head!
So all in all - possible not quite the bag-fulls of dosh your thinking! |
