"One Business Day" is simply this:
Any day from Monday to Friday, between the hours of 9am-5pm.
Weekends are NOT counted as business days, and niether are holidays.
So, if you're waiting for a package that's supposed to arrive.... say, "5 business days" from now (the 22nd of Dec.) Tuesday would be the 1st day.. Don't count Sat. , Sun. , or Monday (It's Christmas, a nationally recognised holiday) Wed. would be the 2nd day, Thurs. the 3rd, Fri. the 4th, and finally, The following Monday would be the 5th day (After skipping over the weekend.. those aren't counted, remember).

Every M-F is 5 business days, unless there's a Holiday in there.
Every M-Sunday is still 5 business days, because Sa.& Su. Don't count.
Don't count the Federal Holidays when banks and the post office are closed.
It's a loose reference and it's possible 2 people would count up 15 business days and report different results. |

It depends. If you are talking to a financial institution-It is from the time you put your transaction in to the next close of business day. So, if you put it in at 4:00 pm and their cut-off was 3:00, then the next business day would be the day after close the next day, so a day and half. M-F only, barring holidays.
If it is regular business, then M-F, with the exception of any holidays or office closures. |
