How much should I charge to babysit? I live in west bend, Wisconsin and have had 1 yr. of experience.?
You charge whatever you agree on with the parents which is negotiable determined by the number of children, age of children experience and age of you, if it's in their home or yours....etc.
Each situation will be different. Be flexible and mature and you will have alot more business coming your way.

depends on if you passed the babysitter test and class and how many kids you are going to watch you should talk to the parents and agree on something

I've been babysitting for about 5 years and I still don't charge a set rate. I usually take what they give me (which is usually a lot!!) but once in a while I babysit for a single mother and I know she doesn't have that much to spare, so it doesn't really bother me.

$9.00 to $10.00 per hour. It's well worth it for all the responsibilites.

10.50 an hour. I think that is pretty standard

The age of the child has alot of bearing on this. Children 3 and under should be more. You should set a rate, for example $80.00 a week for one child, $120.00 for two children in the same family, etc. One thing that you should do is have a list of rules and an emergency contact sheet printed up for each parent. On the contact sheet you should also have a place for them to list any allergies or meds the child has. You should also make the rule that you are paid by the week, not the hour, and that you get paid even if the child doesn't show up. Explain that this is because you need a steady income, and need to know that you're not just there for when the grandparents don't want the kids. You should also make it clear that you need to know when the child will be dropped of and picked up, and if the parent isn't there within 20 minutes of that time, overtime will go into effect.

Toddlers and babies are hell!!!!
You should pay whoever takes the time out and does a good job without knocking the **** out of your kid about 6 dollars an hour.
If you don't want to pay that much, limit the fun.
