I'm an electrician and i charge £130 for a days work you have too, there are so many over heads tax, insurance, tools, Van, materials, advertising, Petrol. Most people are happy to get a good reliable trades man who does a good job. If i was rewiring a house i would count all the electrical points eg sockets, switches, lights etc multiply the total by £35 ad the cost of your petrol etc allow £100 pounds for testing work it out its a good fair price anyway good luck. |

Phone up a selection of electricians from a phone box.
Get a reasonable quote from a qualified and reliable person. If you're one of these, don't price yourself too low, just make sure your reputation goes before you. if you're not very good, get a qualification. Electricity is dangerous stuff, and I know somone who burned a house down because he didn't know his job. |

I live in a lake community and the price to hang a ceiling fan is around $ 150.00 however its not the same everywhere. What I would recommend is to call some electricians in the surrounding counties and ask , "hey what do you charge to hang a ceiling fan, or replace a switch" you get the idea after several calls you'll find out what the going rate is. Then price yours about 10-15% cheaper, you'll get the business. Hope this helps..... |

First make sure your qualified and insured.
Start low work hard and well.When you have too much work gradually start raising it. It's easy to do if your dealing with the public. If your quiet for a bit reduce your prices. |

charge a reasonable rate are you too expensive?? but you cant do it for nothing right, it would be a good idea to to go cheap in order to get a good reputation, perhaps get a school leaver to work with you, you wouldnt have to pay them much and thus would in a way make money out of their efforts, thats what happened to me, i was doing all the conduit and pyro ending off the qualified sparky would just check my work and pay me £60 pound a week, exploited!!! |
