When selling on eBay, you can keep fees down by starting your auctions low. I sell most items starting at one cent with no reserve. If your listing is very good, eBay does a great job at getting bidders to bid the price up to what it should be. Also, do not use a subtitle unless you have to. For free photo hosting, try the new free service from mpire.com
craigslist.com is free or cheap, and has a lot of users. It works great.
Google just launched a free service called Google base. It is complete free! The address is base.google.com
Good luck on selling your items!

It can be tough out there on eBay. Whether you win or lose, they win. If you have a company and are selling on eBay, you'll not pay Value Added Tax.

Yahoo auctions I think is now free. I used to sell on Yahoo and I now sell on Ebay and can definitely say that Ebay is much better. Try adding a few dollars on to your shipping cost to cover the fees. After all it is shipping AND handling. I buy also and I see alot of sellers charging outrageous shipping costs but I understand since I sell. Alot of people charge $3.00 or more dollars to ship an item that costs .60 to ship. |

Here are some alternative auction sites in the UK
http://www.ukauctionhelp.co.uk/directory.php?dkno=25
And this list includes sites outside the UK
http://www.ukauctionhelp.co.uk/directory.php?dkno=11
Alternatively you can always wait for an eBay freelisting day, they come round about monthly
http://www.ukauctionhelp.co.uk/freelisting.php
(you still pay fees if it sells but you do gain by listing on eBay which has a larger user base) |

really with any product that you want may it be a dvd player, football, jersey, iPod. Try the brand websites and check that out about shipping. You can get deals other than eBay. eBay is also too overrated. |

Depends on what you ae buying. Some product sites like ebuyer for comuter and dvd and blah for DVDs are better than ebay and also offer free postage, which is sometimes better than buying on ebay. So the answer is if you like something on ebay, search for the same item using search and possibility is tht you will find a better deal, and if not you have made a good deal on ebay. Hope this helps. |

There really is no way to avoid eBay fees. There are ways to make up for them. Maybe start your bidding at a slightly higher price to cover your fees. Another suggestion is to incorporate your fees into the shipping fee. Some other sites to try, although they do not seem to be as good as eBay, are as follows:
www.ioffer.com
www.bidville.com
Overstock Auctions
Yahoo Auctions
Some of the above-mentioned sites do not charge listing fees. The only fees payable are for items that sell.
I hope this helps. |
