Depends on your present age and financial situation. If you can part with some of it, I would recommend a mutual fund for long-term return. These pay off the longer the term. We have had a good experience using Primerica, but there are many reputable firms out there.
It is wise to pay off your current debts, as interest is just wasted money. |

Try looking for a high yield money market fund. You can still have access to your money if necessary, however, if you go the cd route your money will be tied up for at least 3 months if not longer. Also, you can put a portion in a Roth Ira, but that's more for long term and you can't draw from it until at least 59 1/2 years old. You can always consult with a financial planner if you still can't decide how to invest. |

I wish I had the $10,000 to invest purchasing the Pewter Edition DMZ Barbwire Plaques here in Korea.
Currently, they are not best-sellers; I speculate the price will skyrocket astronomically when North Korea collapses upon itself.
This would be considered a long-term speculative investment, but I believe it would be worthwhile.
For that amount of money, I could purchase 250 of the Pewter Edition Plaques. |
