This is a business that requires capital and can hardly be started on a $5,000 budget. In fact, according to Bellissimo Coffee Infogroup, http://www.espresso101.com/coffee_faq.html you will need the following amounts to start your coffee shop business:
- Coffee Cart: Usual start-up cost is $20,000–$25,000 to open and stock.
- Kiosk: Depending on the size and what menu items are offered, it will usually cost between $50,000–$60,000.
- Coffee Drive-Thru: The cost of opening a drive-thru espresso business operation can vary dramatically, from the the very small units for less than $30,000 to anywhere between $80,000–$180,000 depending on how the shop looks.
- Sit Down: The cost of opening a sit-down coffee shop is comparable to the cost of opening an upscale drive-thru. Start-up costs for most 1200 sq. ft. coffee bars average $150,000 to $300,000.

Don't call yourself Starbucks. Try selling coffee instead of thousands of variations. |

Make sure there is no Starbucks nearby, or any chance of a Starbucks. Those cnuts will break you, just as they've broken several smaller coffee shops in Manchester by their overbearing presence. 8 f*cking Starbucks in one small city - it's too much and the smaller folk can't compete. |

Well first you need to find the right premises and you take it from there, a Theme cafe is always a money maker - good luck.!!! |

As well as a good location... Good coffee and the know how, to make a good one.... Fresh beans and a good gringder plus a good machine.... Doing all this will make the customers happy...
I have an Rocket E61 machine for home use which we've recently bought and we find that the coffee made from this is far better than some of the coffee shops.... It's all down to how you steam the milk and the correct settins to grind the coffee plus the technique in making the coffee itself....
Along with a great atmosphere, nice food to go with it then you'll be set....
I'm based in New Zealand and they drink loads of coffee out here, we bought our machine direct from a Coffee Bean Roaster, if you search the internet for machines for business use and then contact a Coffee Bean company you might get a better deal....
Good luck with your venture.... |

Choose an ideal location first. This itself is half success. Give an unique name for the coffee shop and prepare the number one tasty coffee in the town. If you have these three, rest is easy. |

The 1st thing to do is to know who u r selling the coffee to. For example, Young people means u will have to sell it in lower price, business people may require private space or group seating... that will mean u will have to decide a theme of coffee shop in order to attract different people. (Usually that depend on modal u have)
Then the location that u wanna start it. Because the rental may affect many thing.
Other thing :-
- decide ur menu
- how big is the coffee shop
- how many staff u need
- supplier
- furniture + tools
- trading licence and other legal right things
That's all i can think of at the moment |
