Starting a business is no small task. I should know I'm in the process currently. Depending on what your business is on the other hand, mine just happens to be in the golf market. Look in your area for a Score office, this is a federal gov. tool for you to use. They will assist you in your planning and SBA loans and such. To find the nearest office go to www.score.org
I started with an idea and the a u.s patent, then I developed my website during my test marketing phase. I'm currently using a marketing company out of CAL. and doing some test marketing with PGA Pro Partners Club.
Just remember that nothing happens over night and it takes alot of time. If at all possible continue in your full time job so you'll always have income until your able to replace that income.

Start with your interest, with your passion. Starting a business have a lot of lows. In order for you to survive these birth pains, you need a ton load of motivation to keep going. This is where passion and conviction comes in to keep you going. Start-up pains will be bearable if you are in love with what you do. Yes, starting a business is hard. But the long term rewards are immeasurable. |

Depends on the business, but be sure to get sound advice before committing, as 75% of new businesses fail within their first 3 years. First port of call should be your Business Venture office, they're a free, government-funded advice bureau and should have a branch in every city. I've used Nottingham Business Venture, (0115 970 5550) ring them for assistance if the internet doesn't find one near you, they'll have a directory of other offices. Their staff are all retired business owners/financiers etc, and can find you all the grants and assistance available, do paperwork and build business plans for you. They're well worth seeking out. What kind of business are u interested in? Do you have any skills? If you only have funds, u should probably do a joint-venture, find partner(s) who have the skills and then you can share profits based on agreement
Or if you have skills, u can run ur own business, but u must have a good knowledge in the fields which u are going in. Try some business websites which can give you several tips in engaging small private business. Type small business or entrepreneurship in the key words of ur search engine |
