My 3 friends and I want to help malnutritioned children in Africa. We want 99% going there and 1% going to getting lemonade stuff. i guess we could sell other stuff but w/e.
I want to sell them in front of one of my community centers but do we have to get permission? And how much should a cup cost?

Well, yeah. you need permission. Go to a local police station or something and ask if its ok to sell some lemonaid, and explain your cause. if they okay your little sell, then go and ask the community center if you can sell it in the parking lot or something. once that is covered go and make quite a bit of lemonaid, and make sure you have plenty of it so you wont have to make double trips. bring a couple bags of paper cups, and make sure there are plenty. make sure you have a cooler to keep ice in it and keep your lemon aid in too. make sure to make catchy and decorative signs, and sell it for about 50 or 75 cents. sometimes when people are nice, they pitch in extra money. maybe you should think about selling cool aid as well. and maybe have yellow and pink lemon aid, just so it seems more professional and the customers have alittle more of a choice. wish yo best of luck! hope i helped. ;-) |

There aren't any home based businesses on the web that aren't scams. However - there are plenty of things you can do as a home based business. Go to Yahoo Finance and search for 'home business' and read their article on the top 25.
YTB travel business and Treasure Trooper is a scam. In fact YTB is under investigation by the SEC and IRS, as well as being reprimanded for violations within the industry for false advertising and recruiting irregularities.
If RippedWalletFrancis posts - he is a major spammer - please be wary. He has been banned repeatedly for massive TOS violations, but he keeps creating new accounts and spamming.
I had a nice talk with Josh Kopac, owner of Ripped Wallet. Francis has had hisaccount suspended, and I have been asked to report anyone from Ripped Wallet that posts on here against TOS of Yahoo and of Ripped Wallet.
BTW RWFrancis - are you 13, 14, 15, 16 or some other age? Your story keeps changing depending on the age of the question. |

This sounds really cool. I would start by getting promission from both the community center, your parents, and possibley you could organize a thing at your school this school year and set a goal for it and do funraisers and things. But for the lemonade I would set the price based on the weather that day and how much supplies you had to buy. Check out http://www.worldvision.org/ , you can support a children and families for a month for like 40 dollars a month so you could raise enough money for a year or something. Good Luck! |

Start by making lemonade. Just be aware, that 1% will not be enough to pay for the lemons and the sugar, unless you charge $10.00 for a glass of lemonade. ~ |

of course you have to get permission and you also have to get a business license and permit from thehealth dept. suggestion: make crafts or something else. |

That is a very good idea. It gives you something to do this summer and your helping others at the same time.
If you are going to set up in front of a business you need to get permission. I would keep lots of ice on hand. You could put it in a cooler. You could pre-mix your lemonade at home. I would charge anywhere from .25 to.50 cents a cup.Let your customers know that you're doing a fundraiser. Good luck. |

You might want to check out Sunkist's Lemonade Stand website, although you mention you're too old to request the kit:

Seems like anymore the local governments require "lemonade vendors" to obtain business permits in order to have a lemonade stand. Is nothing sacred? |

Aww how cute..... GOOD LUCK! |

If you're going to be on private property, you should get permission. I'd reccommend charging a few bucks for each cup... the cup of lemonade will just be a symbol. What's most important is to make it VERY clear through signage and flyers that all of your profits are going to your chosen charity.
God bless you for your generous heart! |
