I'm a college student, and I want to open a small home business.?

Well I'm a college student majoring in business. I really want to open up a small business from my home. A business that is very low maintenance and won't require me to be in front of a computer all day every day. I thought about selling things on ebay and/ or making custom t shirts with the help of my printer, but I am very low on other ideas. I really wanted a second opinion on this topic. Any one have any ideas of low maintenance businesses that I can open from home???

Think of all your interests & ask yourself if any of those could be expanded into a business. Just keep in mind...what's your expertise? What are your interests? What could you imagine yourself doing?

A friend of mine, makes lunch and pack them in tiffin carriers and deliver to ppl who've placed order. You may need to prepare a week's menu ahead and customers are made up of ppl working in offices, or senior citizens who can't prepare food for themselves.

Another friend, only bakes cakes, muffins, etc and caters for birthday parties, bachelor parties, etc.

You watch TV late at night and see numerous opportunities about getting rich quickly.

The notion of working from home really starts to peek your interest. You have resisted starting your own home business for a variety of reasons, but you can no longer resist the incentive of easy money, especially when your stuck in traffic or your boss has you working on another mindless report, you think "Hey! It's time for me to find happiness and financial success through a Work at Home business! How do I start?"

The good news is that a home based business can be very lucrative. You can set your own hours which gives you the flexibility to spend time with your children. I'm halfway through college, and I've been running an Ebay business for quite some time now. I also run 2 gambling websites which pay me per hit, and hit's on advertisements.

Everyone goes around telling people like me that we should be concentrating on our academics, but guess what? Now is the time to start being proactive with our funds, learning how to manage/make money instead of sitting around and complaining about being poor.

Ok back on topic, you have a good idea. The start of every business is the toughest part, but if you are willing to put in the effort to make it work from the start, then you may be surprised at how much money you can potentially make.

Note, I said a miminum of effort. There is no free lunch, and you will not succeed in any business with no effort at all.
