You have my sympathy. You're in a difficult spot.
If you can't find a job with a company perhaps you can hire yourself out as an independent contractor.
To do that you'll first need to know what business licensing requirements are for your locality and follow those requirements. Some places actually limit a person's ability to work from home.
Next, decide what businesses you'd like to approach. Perhaps you can do medical insurance billing or bookkeeping or some other type of work.
Once you've decided what businesses you want to work with, you'll need to decide how to approach them. You'll probably need to do some research, such as discovering what department you need to approach, who runs that department so you can contact that person directly, etc. You'll need to create marketing materials, like a brochure, business card, and so on. Then you can begin contacting businesses.
Expect positive responses from 10% of the businesses you contact.
If you're desperate to find work at home you'll do what you need to do to make this work. You could find it very lucrative.
Best of luck to you, and to your family in making it through this rough time. |

their may be proofreading or data entry work you could do from home. do some research on home-based businesses on Google or some other search site. Also, if you could find something to re-sell on E-Bay, many people supplement there income this way to upwards of $5000.00 a month depending on the demand for the item you pick and the mark-up you can get away with charging for bringing the items together in one place for your customers. |

I've been doing some work with www.elance.com the past week, all the work is home based, data entry, transcription etc. The only thing is you're competing against people from countries where the hourly rate of pay is a lot lower, so not sure if it would be worth it for you.
Also have a look at the jobs listed here, most are appicable to us,canada, europe, its quite good, thats where I found the above link.

Its been updated today to include some Craft type jobs which can be done from home, mainly re-distribution, but it possible to make good money from it if you work hard.
So many online jobs are out there. In fact, to do any online job, you need not want to invest anything. Make sure, you dont pay anything to get jobs online. It is just that need to pick the one that suits you the best. I hope this helps you and-->I believe you will find the online job that you love the most. Thanks |

Typing and data entry jobs are the hardest to find because the competition is so high and many times companies send that work overseas. But don't despair, you can find work that will use these skills. There are several things you can do from home. Like at home customer care representative, transcription, writer, proofreader, editor, blogger, telemarketing from home, mystery shopping, virtual assistant, and freelance projects. To get an excellent list of legitimate companies that hire home workers visit http://www.workathomedesk.com which is a free site that also has a frequently updated jobs leads. I keep this one bookmarked and visit it often.
Being a stay at home mom myself, I have also found that http://www.wahm.com is helpful also. Visit the telecommuting mom's message board to network with other home workers and get advice and information about companies.
One thing to keep in mind, is that finding and applying for these jobs can take time. Many times you will never hear back from jobs you applied for. This is typically because the competition for these positions is high and employers often get an overwhelming response. Create a good resume that you can taylor for each job you apply for.
Hope this helps! Good luck! |
