I understand what you are saying about the surveys, they can take alot of time for very little payment, if any.
But theres some really good companies out their I am a mom of 4 and have been working from home for a while. Its possible to find companies without fees or upfront charges.

Paid surveys is not a job, just a way to make extra cash. The key to make money with surveys is sign up with as many legit survey sites as possible and be patient and stick to it. Irecommend you take a look at: http://www.mysurvey123.com - it has free lists of legit survey sites and reviews and ratings.
There are also other work at home options..such as blogging and writing, or phone work customer service, transcriptions etc... Be careful of data entry jobs, since many people want to do data entry work, there are lot of scams out there - don't pay anybody for a job. |

I agree with your thoughts on surveys.
If you are looking for a "job" working from home, I can give you a name of a company that hires moms to be "virtual assistants" over the internet. Totally legit. E-mail me if interested.
If you are looking for a business, you will have to spend a little bit of money if you want to make money. I mean, the money people earn has to come from somewhere. There has to be a product or service that brings in money in order for money to be paid out to the associates. There really are some free opportunities out there too - but the legit ones with potential for real big income are few and far between.

Yeah, you aren't going to get very far with surveys... I mainly do them for fun and only if they don't take up very much time. It can be frustrating when you first start looking for online work. The scams far out weigh the legitimate opportunities out there. One thing to remember is to never pay to get a job.
A good place to start looking for online work is http://workathomedesk.com which is a free site with an excellent directory of legitimate companies that hire home workers. Depending on your skills or experience, you should be able to find several good leads there. Hope this helps. Good luck! |

I am a stay at home mom of three girls. I decided to join the online work-from-home businesses where I could enjoy tax benefits, flexible hours and the freedom of being my own boss.
There are many legitimate home-based business opportunities – and many that are extremely successful - but you must research and evaluate each opportunity in order to choose wisely. In order to assess if they are legit: check with the Better Business Bureau to see what their reputation is like, check to see how long the business has been around, and be wary of those that ask for money upfront!
Of the companies that appear to be legitimate, look to see what kind of training and ongoing support they'll offer you, as that can be a crucial point to your success.

I to am a stay at home mom. I tried surveys also (among a lot of other things) and wasn't impressed either. I ending up spending so much time only to make a few dollars. I was in desperate need of a good enough income so I could continue to stay home with my son. I spent a LOT of time researching different businesses and jobs on the net.
