Be extremely careful when looking into home based businesses. You can get ripped off really fast. I have been on the receiving end too many times.....so now I do my homework very carefully before I even consider starting up. I have found two of them that work very well for me and my family. The first is through Pre-Paid Legal Services Inc. They have been around for over 30 years and are publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange.....so they are heavily regulated and are up front with you. The problem with asking a question like this is that some people do not realize that they are in a questionable company. I am not going to offer a suggestion of a home based business, but invite you to read a blog I wrote about advice for working from home. You can find a link to it in the 2nd paragraph of my profile here on answers. It's all generic information and not a sales ad as a bottom line.
Also at my blog/hub site is a blog written by an MLM attorney, called The MLM Legality Test.
I have been in both the home party plans and non-party businesses. They both have their ups and downs. Before you sign up for anything, check the policies and procedures and compensation plan to find out if you must recruit or not to earn certain commissions. Many companies have this clause, but no one tells you about it until you have signed up. Maybe they don't know themselves, but people get burned and disappointed through lack of proper research before hand.
I would suggest you take all suggestions and run them through the tips given in my blog on how to research a company. It may save you some aggravation in the long run.
