I'm opening a tea and biscuit cart in York, I wonder if seven quid a cuppa(biscuit extra) is enough to charge?
I don't want to undercut the market by too much, just a few quid. Do I need any special licenses or a work Visa (I'm from parts unknown in North America) if I only deal in cash and how soon do I get my free government housing and all that government cash? Many thanks for the help!

streetblitzer
Wonderfull idea, suggest you charge extra 50p for a used plastic cup or £2.50 for a new one cos washing up costs money you know.

More seriously though you won't get much in the way of government handouts by speaking English. As you come from from North America how about Ancient French Canadian Inuick, you and your Jewish Afro Caribbean partners (same sex of course) could then apply for residency to study Islamic Fundamentalism in Bradford (nice travelling expenses).

Housing shouldn't be a problem, borrow six or seven kids from friends, they don't have to look the same just put it down to different partners before your sex change, go along and say you've been evicted and you need a mansion.

its probably ok for York but if you moved down here to London, you would need to up the prices a bit

libbyft
Wow, where are you setting up? At those prices I'll be sure to come and take my morning cuppa with you!

I think £7 would really be taking the biscuit.

Mr. Self Destruct
no way, you should be charging at least 11 quid,
and 3 quid for a biscuit

I know a good pullover on the A3 past Guilford that does a blinding Bacon Butty with hot cuppa for £1.50 a go.

emma g
lol i think £18 is fair

singleyorkie1
Do you think Yorkshire people like me would pay £7 a cuppa? Maybe 7lb of something that rythms with pit lol

lmao at this one. i'd make it a straight tenner after all you dont want to overcharge & the biscuit is a nice touch. I'd come & have a cuppa at your cart next time I come to york but I only drink coffee.
I wouldnt worry about work visas & takes about 3 weeks for your house, but dont worry you can always stay in a nice hotel till it comes available. lol

cheeky
You must be daft ,theres no way anybody in york would pay 7 quid for a brew.
You want to start re thinking your prices mate.
Have you done any market research yet, like going round the streets and asking your average punter what they think is a good price for a brew.
Obviously not cos if you had then you'd know that seven quid is ridiculous ,it's got to be at least a tenner, and if theres the slightest hint of an american accent then it's fifteen quid.
So if you're going to do it then get it right,oh and by the way ,bin the biscuit idea ,all it does is raise costs.
