Besides the usual handing-out-flyers, advertizing in your local penny-pincher/thrifty nickel paper, here´s what a guy did in our neighborhood:
He drove around and found the ugliest, most unkempt yard he could find. It belonged to an older couple who could no longer taker care of it themselves. He offered them a deal. Free lawn service in exchange for free adverstizing on their lawn. Since the whole neighborhood had seen what it looked like before and they liked what it looked like after, he got a lot of new steady customers who in turn refer him to other people.

go door to door and ask.. and usually they become permanent if you have a good price and do a good job our last guy came to our door we were living in a metro area and didn't know him from squat but we kept him on until we moved for several years then go word of m outh telling your customers to tell others are make inquiries to their friends.. it works did it as a kid had a huge amount of people and had to hire other people to help.. |

Go door to door and tell people what you are doing and ask for their business. Also, when you are doing a job, check with 2 houses on each side, tell them you are doing a job at 1234 and ask if you can get their business. I have seen people do this and soon they had more business than they knew what to do with. |

Make some flyers up and post them on bulletin boards, with permission of course. You can go into different businesses and ask them if you can put a flyer up in their window, or if they will pass out a few to their customers. You could put a small ad in the local paper. You could go to some places that sell landscaping materials, and ask them if you can put up a flyer. Also make up some business cards. Hope this gave you some ideas. Good Luck with your business. |

a.nature has to be on your side more sunny days than rainy ones.
b. move around in districts where power of the mighty counts -- the dollar spenders not the poor neighborhoods where people tend to do it themselves.
c. get the right equipment up to date --
save on human labor.
d. get and carry your own instrument in a visible
truck...post your business job name when you do the lawn
e. be reasonable and honest on the price
f. besides doing the lawn make sure you
clean other debris..paper or dog remnants etc..the owner will appreciate the extra touch.
g. be on time and be regular for appointments. make sure you account for the hours --agree on paper.

Fliers always do the trick... and an ad in the paper. That should get you some business. Then if you are any good... word of mouth is the best way for customers to hear about your business!!! |
