I don't think it's a good idea because:
1. They are not something that people will buy in bulk - only a few.
2. They are cheap anyway, so the price of postage makes you uncompetetive with shops.
3. They are quite bulky. To make any money at all you'll need to sell loads - which means you have to have storage for loads.
Sell microprocessors or something small of higher value. That's a better business for the internet. |

I wouldn't put too much money into the idea. Right now there are too many places to buy candles. Why go online and buy candles? Maybe they are really fancy quality. Well, they would need to be something really fancy. I mean unbelievable fancy. Maybe you can sell them really cheap. Of course, the people buying them would need to pay for shipping so any amount they save on buying your candles will be eaten up by shipping. Right now, I can easily think of a dozen stores that sell all sorts of candles that are within 10 minutes of where I work. If I needed candles I would go to one of those.
Now, lets say that you can sell your candles online and invest very little money in doing it and have extremely low overhead costs (maybe even non-existant if that is possible). Then maybe but you would really need to examine exactly how much you can get the candles for and how much it would take to sell them and how much profit you can get from each one. I have a feeling you are going to find that the market price for candles is about as low as it is going to get. |
