Adverts in local shops, they are cheap.
Make up some cards, on one side give all your contact details, approx. prices etc. On the other side where you have just done a job. Then when you have finished a job, put the cards through letterboxes of houses around the one you have just been at (say about 5 either side of the house and 10 on the other side of the road).
Small box ad in local freebie. They often do a deal x weeks for £x.

Clear up the cuttings after yourself.
Word of mouth is the best way to build up a clientelle.
Other wise print off some cards and put them through the doors of houses which have long grass in the garden!! |

adds in shop windows, leaflets dropped in places where people can pick them up (your local etc) ,drive round and if you see an untidy garden put a leaflet through their door also offer more than just grass cutting,(all types of garden work) also think about what you are going to do in the winter when there is no grass to cut. Make some leaflets and deliver them door to door, put an advert in the paper. Make sure you do a good job each time and charge a reasonable price as word of mouth is one of the greatest tools, being recommended is an excellent way to build up regular clients.

Advertise in your local paper, on local radio etc, and also in a magazine like Horticulture Week.
Go to a search engine and type in something like horticulture publications, landscape publications, or gardening publications. |
