14 sounds like a great age to start a business.
3 elements you need
A product
Customers
Profit
You need to find a product to buy or manufacture that customers want to buy and that you can make or buy low enough and sell high enough to make a profit.
For instance, you live in an area where the people like live entertainment but it isn't often available. You could find a strip mall or warehouse that you could convert to a comedy club. You then find a booking agent that can find travelling talent (comedians or musicians) for you. These performers as they travel from one venue to another can often be booked at a lower rate than you might if you had to book them at full price because they need to cover travel expenses by playing another date they are not booked for. You get the proper licensees for your area, hire an over age manager and get a liquor license and get going. Booking acts two or three nights a week could make you a tidy sum. During the day nad other evenings you could use the space for other types of events and as a meeting room space.
Anyway just a spontaneous thought for you.
There are lots of types of businesses, you might consider a 240 paper, paper route a business, some may not, they may consider it employment.
good luck |

You go for it. My young child is the same as you and prepared a business plan for gaming meetings.
Stick to what you know and enjoy doing and go from there. You are never too young to start and in this day and age billionaires are getting younger.
Your parents should be able to assist in getting the ownership and legislative side of business tidied up for you until you are old enough. Or just operate as a sole trader.
Using the internet obviously helps too.
If I was you I would find a mentor. Read up on entreprenuers, find a whole lot you think would be good to work with and email or phone them until you find someone willing to mentor you.
And don't let anyone say you can't do it or mock you. |

i would wait until you are at least 16-18 years old but if you need some planning then start by looking at good places that are for sale or rent where you want to have your business. Put up ads at your school looking for workers and some advertisements. I hope I help. |

What kind of business do you want to do? What do you like to do? Does in translate into a service or product that someone would like to buy? For instance, do you like to do yard work? See if your parents will let you borrow the lawnmower and make a deal that you will pay them a small rental fee for it's use. Make sure you include a loan for your first tank of gass if you don't have money for that. Ask neighbors if they would like their lawn mowed. Set a fair price. Remember that edging and weeding may be required.. but you get the idea... if you don't like yard work, what else can you think of that you can do?
Running your own business is hard work but if you really want it bad enough you can do anything. Don't let anyone tell you that you are too young to try. Good Luck! |

Hi,
What are you passionate about? If you are good in something, you can always advertise your skills in http://www.elance.com (mostly computer jobs), or those free classified ad in Craigslist. If you are good in product promotion, you can try to promote product from http://www.clickbank.com. If you have a product try selling in http://www.ebay.com.
Since you are 14 years old, you might want to use your dad's name first to create the account.
Another thing, you can always advertise yourself to your neighbours, offering them to clean up their yard. Just basic clean up, where you gather all their garbages and put them outside, for the garbage men to pick it up. Some of the older people do not have the strength to do this, rather than hire someone else, they might hire you, probably because you are cheaper. Back in my younger days, I used to go from door to door doing this kind of work, like clean up, and carwash. It will be more fun if you do it with a friend. Just two of you though, not more than that, because the money is not that big, but it is a start. I was a good typist, as well as researcher, so when I was in college I used to advertise my typing services.
Do you love dogs? If you do you can try offering pet sitting services or dog walking. Dog walking usually pays $10 to $15 by the hour.
Gather some wild flowers in your area, make a bouquet, use a flower cellophane wrap, with a ball at the bottom for a little water, so your flowers will stay fresh. Sell them to people or make a deal with local grocery stores, and split the profit. Just make sure you provide a stable vase to display several of your bouquets. Put a price tag on each bouquet, say $5 to $10. Go to night clubs, sell your bouquets to the club visitors, they men will likely buy the flowers for his girlfriend.
If you are not good with flowers get your mom or girlfriend to help you. Who knows this might be your future business. By the way wild flowers are free for the taking, you just to find them.
These are just some ideas, you might have a better one. Good Luck |

Rich people didn't just make their fortune with just a blink of an eye. It takes years and years and years of experience, effort, time, and most especially investment (which involves money).
If you want to have something big, then start with something small. It's alright to aim high. Just don't get ahead of you self. It's like gambling, if you bet a large amount right away without a prepared strategy, then you'll surely lose a big amount too or maybe even double.
You're still fourteen there's still so much for you to learn about. |
