You will need to finish up your education in collage. Not only to know how to do your business the right way, but your certificate will earn you the respect of others that you deserve. You need to show proof to others that you seriously know what you’re doing! That way, they would trust you and work with you.

If you screw up, you'll be stuck in nowhereland without any degrees and any job. Besides, if you don't go to college, people won't take you seriously regardless of your age. Lost time staying out of workforce
Lost opportunity to live at home during the first few years of the startup.
Starting business
Pro - You can live at home while business is in startup phase, if it fails, you are not going to become homeless
Con- If it does fail, you just lost time that you could have spent in college.
Depending on the business, you are going to need capitol. If you need to go to a bank, they will require co-signers. Banks will take you a lot more seriously with a college degree.
Most businesses fail, but if you stay at home, then the failure is benign... |

Go to college and get to know all your business professors (I'm assuming that's what you'll study.) The things you learn and the contacts you make will be of great benefit to you when you do start a business. Who knows, you may be able to start one while you're in school. If the classes bore you, think of the networking you'll be doing. |

College will be worth 10 years experience, which you will need some by working for others.
You will have many problems to overcome, trying to begin an entriprise at 17.
You may need credit with suppliers, advertisers, building leases among a few.
These are slim to none for your age.
I commend you for your ambitions but you will be more likely to succeed with college under your belt, and/or some experience in your chosen fileld.
Writing a business plan is only one facet of business. Although this is an absolute necessity to obtain any financing, it is not imperative to begin a business, without financing.
This is not to say that you shouldn't write a plan. This would be an outline of your goals.
There are many other facets that are necessary to become successful.
The US has this web site for Americans. It's SMB, Small Business Administration. You can google that and have access to a plethora of information.
There is also a link, SCORE, which has several business plans/templates that you can use. They are on Excel, if you have that.
They offer free counsling for American Citizens, but you may find all else to be helpful.

You must learn how to prepare an inventory, sales plans, Turnover, along with planning inventory assortment. If you're considering the Fashion business, it can be rewarding but critical planning and control are a must.
You need a full understanding of markup percent, markdowns, fixed expenses, descretionary expenditures, employee relations, etc, etc.
All financial reports/plans are a necessity.
