I hate to hear of you taking a loss... but thats what you need to do.... have them return the Item and reimberse full cost plus return shipping and apologize... In the long run with E-bay... it is much better to take the loss than risk negative comments and the person possibly trying to cause you problems with E-bay. |

The best thing to do is ask them to ship it back at his/her cost and refund. Its the best thing to do to save your rating. Then reconcider selling things like electronics and such that "work" because some folks are not honest and even if they break the item they blame it on you. Try some GREAT collectables that sell really well like the ones a www.bradshawwholesale.com they sell great to folks that want them and they can't break. Bradshaw's even dropshipps for you |

That's a hard one. I sell on eBay too, but I always write in my auctions that once the item leaves me, I am no longer responsible. I think I would tell them that the item worked when it left you. If you are absolutely sure of that. That is all you can really do, unless you let them return the item to you for a refund. |

I would suggest for you to offer another product that you are selling in your eBay store and offer the buyer only to pay the shipping charges.
Or,
Have the buyer return the product if he/she only used it once and return the bidding amount minus the selling fees and shipping.
Or,
Give the buyer a 20% discount on it's next purchase.
Sellers, always want to have a great selling profile, this is what leads to sellers good ratings.

Tell the buyer to send it back (which you are willing to pay postage for on receipt ofcourse) to which you will test and make sure it works and resend, if they don't agree then their claim is frivolous |

I am in a very similar circumstance of selling items. I try to bend over backwards to make the customer happy. Word of mouth advertising is extremely important. What money range are we talking here? How was it shipped? It's difficult to tell what I'd do, without a little more info. |
