I am a stay at home mom on minimal income. Is AVON a good business to get into?

I have looked into other home based businesses but they all seem to be scams and or want a BIG payment to get into.
Does anyone have another home based idea to look into?

Avon is a pretty good company to get involved in the product is legit. You will find a lot of people from here that can help you out in Avon.
Another home based business idea to look at to, like you asked, is in the telecommunications industry. This is the industry that my husband and I got involved in with our home based business over six years ago. We both wanted to work out of our home and be together raising our children. We didn't want to send them off to a daycare center. Don't get me wrong, I'm not putting down daycare providers. They work hard. (another home base business too) But I just didn't want the traditional family lifestyle of one or both parents having to work out of the home and really not be a part of our children's life. I didn't want that lifestyle. I wanted to be with my kids. The company we chose made the most since to us. A product that is and always will be in high demand. There are a lot of products and services out there that are good. We decided to partner up with this company because it was things that people will always use and pay for anyway, pretty much no matter what. We didn't have to worry if money became tight that they could easily run to the store and purchase on sale or be able to buy it at the dollar store. So, we got involved in the world's largest direct selling telecommunications service provider that was started back in 1993. It's now a 15 year old, world wide international company. With headquarters in Farmington Hills, Michigan, Charlotte, Amsterdam, Sydney and Montreal.
They have been featured in several magazines like USA Today, Success, Fortune etc. Inc 500 rated them the 22nd fastest growing company in revenue in it's first five years. They are registered with the BBB as well.
They market in services people use every day and pay for anyway, like I had said. Services like Local and Long Distance telephones, Internet, Digital, video phones, Satellite TV, and all the major cellular phone companies like T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, Nextell, Altell etc as well. We save people money and make money at the same time. Every single month these people pay their bills, we make a percentage over and over again each month.
How many people do you know, or know of around the world that uses one or more of these services or products? . A lot of money involved in this industry.
Because of this business, It gave us the opportunity to start our non profit organization called SOFTIN (www.seafaringopportunities.org) funding is so hard to find with the compeitition involved. Every non profit organization is out there trying to find donors through large corporations. We could make the monthly income to well support our non profit organization based on what we knew and how much we made from our business.

Hiya! I'm a SAHM of six, lost my WAH job of fifteen years without warning four weeks before last Christmas and basically PANICKED! My SIL has sold Avon for a couple of years. She says it brings in about $75 a month.

Are you looking to make some spare money or an actual income and how much time do you want to spend. I'm currently completely jazzed, content and thankful for my new ten hour a week job. Startup was a definite issue for me as well since we were supporting eight on $1600 a month in SoCal after I lost my job. It wasn't pretty.

not sure but my aunt use to sell Avon products for 3-4 yrs
never ask her how much or whats the deal with it but i know she had lots of friends that bought her stuff so am guessing if you going that direction you need lots of client tells

To supplement your income - Yes. To make any considerable amount of money by selling to your friends and neighbors - No.

What is it you are looking for?
What is it you love to do without consideration for money?
What level of income do you want to achieve?
What is most important to you?

Answer these questions to yourself first, and then based on your answers, start your research for Home Based Business. Once you find what suits your answers the best, get yourself a mentor who already accomplished what you want to achieve. He/she will guide you step by step.

This by the way is also the shortest, simplest and the least expensive highway to financial independence, providing you can see yourself being financially independent. Read some books on the subject of mindset first.
