I am considering selling Avon because I love the products so much. Im not looking to make a big business?

out of it. Just to friends and family. Is it a hassle and how much is it to start up? Can I sign up online? What kind of discount do I get on products that I buy for myself?

I started selling Avon because I loved the products and figured I'd do it for the discount. A year later I'm still selling and want to be one of Avon's rich and famous one day :)

Your personal discounts are based on your discounts you earn......For your first campaign you will earn 50% commission when you place your order online. For your Second, Third, and Fourth campaigns, you will earn 50% commission provided your orders are greater than $50, and you place your orders online. After your first four campaigns, the commission structure is as follows:
Order Size Earnings
$1550 or more 50%
$900 - $1549 45%
$425 - $899 40%
$285 - $424 35%
$145 - $284 30%
$25 - $144 20%
$00 - $24 0%
Licensed products are earned at 20% commission.

So after the first 4 campaigns your discount is based on your sales (even your personal discount) so getting more customers would increase your discount and possibly pay for your products if you aren't interested in making money. You might actually like selling Avon as I did and want more. I find it challenging and fun.

I have sold enough to get 40% discounts on every campaign. I also get my products free AND make some extra money. I would say I average $400-$600 per month above what I buy for myself. So never say never to making a big business out of it LOL

It's $10 to sign up. Personally, I had a bad experience with Avon. I don't think the discounts are very good either. Please check with your better business bureau on district Avon manager. The reason I tell you this, is because I did not do this, and it took them 3 months and many, many calls and emails to get off their campaign list. They kept charging me for the months I didn't order, and I had canceled my account with them in Jan, this was just resolved in April. When I finally looked @ the better business bureau website for the local district, I found they had over 250 complaints! I wish you the best in your ventures with Avon -- this was just my experience!

i sold avon things around my local houses and its not worth all the problems that come with e.g getting the catalogs back (wich you pay for) and then people not wanting to pay for there items.
in the end it worked out that i was paying THEM to work for them.

My neighbor tried it. They shorted her on her order, and refused to send her the rest until she placed her next order. She didn't have any orders to place, so she had to order one thing just to get the rest of her order. Her customers had to wait quite a while for their things while she worked it out with them. She didn't find it worth it at all. She just wanted to sell to friends and family.

I also suggest Arbonne International. Our team would be a great fit for you. It is amazing how the products sell themselves and by word of mouth you can grown a nice little business.
