I am looking to start a business ... but I don't have an idea!?
I am an accountant, and know how to form a business and comply with all of the various laws and paperwork. I just don't have an idea of something I can do. Fortunately, I'm one of the few accountants that generally has a 40-hour workweek. I'm out the door at 7:30 and get back home at 6:30. That gives me about 3-4 hours M-F, and all day Sat and Sun. I'm willing to put about $10,000 in this at first, and am willing to plow all of the profits back in while working full-time. Any suggestions??!
Additional Details
Quite a few responses have been people looking to add me to the bottom of their MLM pyramid - Been there, done that, no thanks. Best of luck ...

Start you own accounting firm.... thats obvious kiddo...

You have the technical know-how. You are light years ahead of all these MLM and 2x2 matrix scam artists.

Take it from someone who is living the life right now.. there aint NOTHING like working for yourself.... NOTHING.. :O)....

good.

Pair up with a scientist and go for an SBIR Grant and develop something to sell to the Military.

DoD's SBIR program funds early-stage R&D projects at small technology companies -- projects which serve a DoD need and have the potential for commercialization in private sector and/or military markets. The program, funded at approximately $1.14 billion in FY 2007, is part of a larger ($2.3 billion) federal SBIR program administered by eleven federal agencies.

As part of its SBIR program, the DoD issues an SBIR solicitation three times a year, describing its R&D needs and inviting R&D proposals from small companies -- firms organized for profit with 500 or fewer employees, including all affiliated firms. Companies apply first for a six-month to nine-month phase I award of $70,000 to $100,000 to test the scientific, technical, and commercial merit and feasibility of a particular concept. If phase I proves successful, the company may be invited to apply for a two-year phase II award of $500,000 to $750,000 to further develop the concept, usually to the prototype stage. Proposals are judged competitively on the basis of scientific, technical, and commercial merit. Following completion of phase II, small companies are expected to obtain funding from the private sector and/or non-SBIR government sources (in "phase III") to develop the concept into a product for sale in private sector and/or military markets.

Have a professional design a tailored business model for you. I'm not suggesting that it is your only option, but might be worth looking into. I've included a link if you want to check it out.

I joined a new and innovative company two weeks ago that may be able to help you earn a little extra income.

Once you join, your membership includes your own online mall to purchase whatever you want or need. Your purchases on your online mall give you rebates back on all your purchases, which may help cut some expenses. And, if you share this opportunity with at least 5 to 10 people, who in turn do the same, it will slowly begin to become an additional source of income.

Plus. Membership for this opportunity is ABSOLUTELY FREE. Check out my site at www.tipstowdw.com for additional information and see if this is for you.

I wish you the best of luck in all your business ventures.

have you not considered doing a home based business that is global in nature that requires a low start-up cost but realistic return as your option to start and own your business and build up your residual income? If you can get hold of a copy of Success From Home Magazine last July 2006 and see for yourself. It is a good source for sourcing business.
As an advise, don't close your eye on new business trends - just find out the legitimate ones with a promising future

Check with your local chapter of the SBA (Small Business Administration). Lots of start up businesses need a good accountant. Put the word out with tax experts as well. Make a business card and give it to EVERYBODY!

There are many businesses that require less start up.

Sure - find a business model that requires sweat-equity, not money. There are some great ones out there.

Step 1: Find out what is needed and wanted by potential customers.

How? Survey people, asking them what they could use help with, what would make their life easier, etc. Ask what they would be willing to pay for that type of service.

Step 2: Deliver what is wanted and needed with high quality.

Step 3: Enjoy your newfound success!

Definitely do something you have a passion for. I think God has placed everyone on this earth to do something specific. He has given us a specific calling. You need to find out what that it is. You need to learn how to hear the voice of God and do what he wants you to do. That is the only way you will have peace and be happy in this life. Check out:

It's a great ministry that will help you learn more about God and His plan for your life.

One of the best & easy way to start a business without any overheads is to start an Online Business. You just need a computer, an internet connection & a burning desire to become a full time online enterpreneur. It is scalable as well and sky is the limit, in case you are really serious about it. I'm working part time about 3-4 hours a day & already making healthy living online.
The key part which I really love, being a bit lazy, is automation. Once you set it up, it runs on autopilot making you money 24-by-7.
Its difficult to explain everything in detail here but if you are not aware of Internet Marketing or Online Marketing Business then I highly recommend you to join this excellent free course.
