I worked at a second hand store that sold good quality clothes on Ebay. They received high quality top name brand donations a lot (I once had to sell a brand new Saks Fifth Avenue top/sweater set with the tags still on it valued at over $300 for $20. It hurt me to do it, but my boss insisted on set prices). Go to your local thrift store and just search for name brand clothes that are in good condition. Make sure you have:
1) Pictures (front, back, any detailing, AND THE TAG)- you can use a photo editing system to put all the photos together so you don't have to pay to upload extra pictures if you don't want to, but I think it's worth it. Investing in a mannequin is also a good idea.
2) Measurements: Shoulder to shoulder, shoulder to sleeve, bust, shoulder to waist (for tops) and on pants: waist, waist to hem, in-seem (crotch to hem)
3) Detailed description. Is it new? Used? Excellent condition? Why? Use adjectives that pop out such as dazzling, extravagant, beautiful, marvelous, etc.
Other tips:
*Use the entire subject line on a post in all caps with as much description as possible. Any left over lines, fill in with "***" BUT MAKE SURE THEY ARE SEPARATED FROM THE WORDS otherwise it won't come back in a search. :) Ex:
*** STUNNING WOMEN'S ANN TAYLOR PINK & BLACK TOP SIZE 10 ***
*Women's clothing sells better than Men's
*plus sizes sell very well
*Really sparkly gawdy clothes tend to sell to drag queens apparently..... lol (wouldn't dive head first into that, that's just what my boss at the time told me!)

Electronics from China. Trust me the easiest way ever. Get a contact in China, who will be interested in supplying you with say flash drives. Buy bulk amt at huge discount and make some profit. Contact in China can be found by the ads on Chinese ebay. At first put lower margins so you can build up your rank faster. Almost sell at 0 profit, just to break even. The reason people will buy from you is the cheapest price and local shipping(more trusted).
Second idea just sell something that you can find around you, something small and that has very small value. Just look up your local companies that are looking for salesman. Sell at no profit as well just to cover the costs. Having tons of transactions will build up your rank and soon you will be able to sell anything you want.
Those are two ideas that should help you start.

i'm a powerseller. i'd say start with what you know. if you know about clothes, sell clothes, if you know about tools sell them. Also sell what you can get the best deal on. You HAVE to be able to compete to make it on ebay. Especially now they are making it much harder on the seller by raising fees and favoring the buyers. |

what some people do is they buy computer parts, make them into a computer, and then sell them once they are made. You have to know alot about computers first.
