try renting for a month at a time. when your business starts to pick up you then buy one. Remember hard work pays off. |

I'm a self employed courier/haulier. I had to get my own van so looked at the options available to me. You say you cant buy one, well if you are going to do high mileage then its not a good idea to buy anyway.
mileage under 20,000 a year you can lease or lease hire from any of the dealerships that sell vans, the rates are excellent and require no deposit. They will do a credit check however. You can also go to car hire companies and get a van on long term rental, the rates vary but get lower if you agree to long term. |

Try renting one maybe even for a few days a week, (shop around for quotes) or buy even an old banger to get started (still make sure MOTed). When you are more established you can buy a better one. Good luck! |

I am afraid you seem to be a bit naive and I recommend that you get on a government training scheme on setting up your own business. Job centres sometimes advertise details of self-employment possibilities for unemployed people, including contract work and commission only vacancies. They may also be able to provide information on starting a small business or arranging a franchise. If you want information you should speak to your Employment Services Adviser.
I wouldn't buy an old banger - too unreliable and you will have to fork out for tax insurance MOT etc. Rent a van - there are some good deals, if your business becomes viable business then lease a van and when you are really established buy a van |

If you want to succed in business, you need enough capitol (money) to operate for 6 yes that's six months including your van. Otherwise you probabky will not last 2 (two) years. |

Do you really need the van for the business? Remove it from your business plan, see if the plan (and the business are sitll there) and you'll be happy. |

buy a REALLY cheap one (ebay?) & run it into the ground...if you make it - buy a good one, if you fail - no big loss.
