My advice would be to seek help from a business counselor. before you do anything especially spend money. I'd call the local office of SCORE (go to http://www.score.org and input your zip code to find the chapter nearest you), the advice is FREE.
The counselor at SCORE will most likely advise you to write a business plan which is very good advice because it will force you to dig out all of the start up details and the costs of starting a Health foods takeaway offering and force you to also understand all of the aspects of this business including the customers you'll concentrate on (your market ) and how you'll go after them.
You'll need to register the business with your state controller's office and get the right food handling licenses. Make sure that you also have any city and county licenses if any are needed where you live. All of this will come out in a business plan.
Try this link :

Good Luck |

If you're dream is big enough, then why not? Keep dreaming until you see it happening. |

yes the main reason people eat from takeaways is because they can't be bothered to cook not because they actually enjoy the food they buy from them. I think healthy meals could really take off have you thought about doing a sunday roast to takeaway and have you considered delivery. A sunday roast delivered to your door with no cooking or pots now that is a good idea! |

Maybe? It depends on many things - not least your business skills, business plan and how much work and capital you are going to invest in this.
Takeaway is an extrememly competative market to get into, and health food is nothing new. You will be comepting against massive multinationals who can easily undercut you in terms of price and overpower you in terms of marketing on the one hand - and on the other hand will be competing against many small scale takeaway operators locally. Not to mention restaruants, supermarkets etc.
Thats not to say it won't suceed, it just isn't easy. Planning is essential. |

Where are you?
I am allergic to wheat. Would you cater for that? I would visit if you had no wheat in any thing... :) |

There's certainly a gap in the market. |

depends on location. food and good marketing. You could have the most delicious food but if you place it in a bad location it will flop. good luck and i hope its suceeds for you |

It all comes down to how you market your product. There are a lot of factors to consider - we're in a fast paced fast living society where health is not the top priority... although everyone wants to be fit and healthy, no one has "time". Healthy fast food has to be 1. Fast and convenient 2. Taste as good as the unhealthy fast foods on the market. 3. comparable in price to other fast food restaurants.
Your target customers will have to be those who eat fast food on a regular basis anyway. So in order to draw from that market, you will have to meet their expectations and provide them with what they are used to: Cheap, quick and convenient.
Subway have had a big advertising campaign, promoting their fast-food as a healthy substitute to McDonald's etc. Take a look at the concepts they have used and incorporate it with your own ideas.
To make any business venture work, you will have to define yourself in a unique way.
Good luck with your endeavour! |

It will be a gold mine, especially if you offer delivery as well. It would be the answer to London's food prayers but be sure to open it somewhere that people have a regard for their health. |

A little research for you.
Theres a chain doing just that in London - don't know what its called but it was featured on a tv programme i flicked through. From what i saw it was doing pretty well for itself.
Good luck. |

Why not? All we get is junk food shops springing up every where. A lot of people who are thinking of changing from a lifestyle of artery clogging foods to Healthy stuff will find your service as a solution to their problems.
Email me as I have a great idea regarding your target market. |

yes I it should do if the food is very fresh. Try it near an airport if you want it to take off.
