can you get a gov grant for a small biz--you have about 1 chance in 100. It would take, in fast
time frame, about 3 yrs. And only for non-profits.
visit your city/county/state departments of economic opportunity and see what they
need re new jobs/business opportunities for their remotely [suburbs] located citizens
[at least 5 publishers offer grant suppliers $ sources and ALL OF THEM ARE PHONY.

There is no such grant where the government hands out taxpayer money to unemployed individuals to open up a for-profit business. The ONLY grants that are available to everyday people are for college financial aid. Go back to school and that will help you with your 5 year unemployment stint. |

Actually there are a number of quicker and easier ways to get monsy for small business. The easiest is equipment leasing/purchase. They are less as strict as the banks and they can get it done for less out of pocket. A great site to use is www.equipmentleasingrates.com they don't run your credit and they're tied into the top lending companies. You rate your own credit from poor to excellent, tell them on the form what your need and click submit it's free and you will get multiple lending quotes emailed to you. |

I doubt it. But a good place to start is with your SBA, aka Small Business Administration. They would be able to answer your questions and let you know if you qualify. Generally speaking you have to have an idea, a business plan, and so forth. But it never hurts to make a call. Good luck! (see it in your local phone book, and make an appointment to go see them) |

The US Government Grant web site is http://www.grants.gov
But they do not give grants to individuals to start a business, pay down their debt, buy a home, or anything else you may have heard. There are grants to go to school, but that's about it.
