Remember, that Avon has been around for so long, and many people don't think highly of it. Though it is a respectable company and many are doing well Just like in any business it comes down to whom you are surrounded by, broke people or people doing at least okay.
You have to market, market, market, market. Let people know you are in business. What I do with my business (not Avon),is that I give out small gift bags with a sample item, my biz card, and a brochure. I carry them everywhere I go, and give them out as thank you gifts. |

First ask your customers to recommend friends, word of mouth is the best advertising
Are there any other territories that you could get off your boss as you need to be careful where you go as you are suck to your area. Are there any other places you could place a catalogue?
Schools, factories, nursery's, shops, cafes or anywhere else that people go.
If you are not making enough with what you are doing you could look at what I am doing. It is similar but you can go anywhere you want and you can get more customers as it appeals to men as well as women. Have a good look, it costs nothing |

You could always leave a few books at your salon (it's how I found my rep). |

identify buyers of avon (there must be a 'typical' avon buyer)
age of person, type of house etc.
just handing out books is a waste of your time with out targeting the right type of person
even good marketing often only returns 1%-2% so don't be disappoint if you get little response just make sure it is good quality response from the type of person who spends plenty
as the other person said target friends and family, work colleges if you can
if you can print a nice ad on your pc try shop windows
some will charge just a few pence each week, and chemist often don't charge :)

You can post your book at Jewel or any supermarket( I always see them tacked on the boards at Jewel), you can pass them around at work or with friends and family. You can also post your contact info on the avon website and customers choose you and order from you( i do that all the time) or try passing out booklets during halloween to moms, |

host an avon party at your house or a cheap venue and advertise with friends and family or do a few posters to hand out to local shops etc. all u have to do is order a load of avon stock and let them road test it during the party and you will be surprised at the reaction. good luck |

I have gotten many Avon books in a little baggy hanging either on my door or on my mailbox.I thought that was a wonderful idea.The person that left it had her number in case I had wanted to order.By doing this you don't have to stay in your neighborhood. |

Ask your regular customers to collect orders from their friends/family and offer them a small gift as an incentive. I would always collect money up front. |

I know many companies let you set up web sites does Avon? If so I'd set up a site and have it emailed out to my friends maybe even do up an myspace for your Avon saling I did one for my friend who decorates cakes here and its working pretty good for her! |
