I think it would be best to just open an account. I don't know how all banks work, but I do know some only need as little as five dollars to open the account. Just go to the bank and ask information. If you're young, just ask your mom to go with you.
Most people use paypal because it's fast and easier. If they send money, it's easier to lose it and that will just cause problems for you.

No, you have to have a bank account because you'll be required to accept Paypal as a new seller.
Paypal requires a bank account for their verification system. |

You can sell without a bank account, but most people (myself included) prefer paypal (which requires a bank account to setup in order to receive fund in from sales). You can use money order, but you have to stipulate it in your auctions. If you are a newbie, it will be tough to get going. People have to trust you in order to send money order in prior to receiving the goods. |

You should look on eBay's website for this information - not Yahoo! answers. To answer your question - yes, you may use money orders to purchase on eBay - just do an Advanced Search and select the option that only searches for people willing to accept Money Orders. People are going to think you're trying to scam them because with time - everyone is forced to comply and get a beastly number to buy and sell with.
Above all - read your listings completely and beware of fraud. Read their frequently asked questions on avoiding fraud scams, etc. Don't forget to pay extra at the post office to track and confirm your money, signature-certified and a bag of potato chips. You don't want people lying about what they did and didn't receive. Read feedback and watch out for new buyers/sellers or recent name-changers.

i dont know. but you should just open a bank account anyway. that way, you can open a paypal account with that bank account and do transactions through paypal. paypal is secure and many people on ebay uses it.
maybe with paypal, people will feel more inclined to buy your paintings too. because i dont like purchasing anything with credit cards, checks, or money orders. i only buy from ppl with paypal, it's just easier. |
